Is this weird?

Last year I unexpectedly lost DH. I still wear my engagement ring, wedding ring and eternity ring daily. A few weeks ago I was doing a lot of diy and I took them of so they didn't get damaged or lost. Why I wasn't wearing them I felt like something was missing and as soon as I had finished doing the work I was doing I put them all back on. I worry that people find it strange that I am still wearing my rings as normal but I find it strange not wearing them. Would you find it strange if someone you knew was still wearing their wedding ring over a year after their husband/wife passed away?

My mother in law wore hers forever. She’s in a home with dementia now, we took them off her because she’s getting frail and they were loose. We were worried they’d fall off and be squirrelled away by another dementia resident (they all randomly toddle off with each other’s stuff. Someone even managed to take her dentures!).

I'd find it stranger if they took them off. Sorry for your loss.

I live in Germany, where the tradition is to wear wedding, engagement and eternity rings on the right hand. Many widows/ widowers change the rings to the right hand to show that they are widowed but the partner continues to be a part of their life story.
