Brilliant that she found the strength to get away from her abuser. Hoping she and her children moved on to live in a peaceful happy home, without fear hanging over their everyday lives.

I don’t normally talk about the dog story on Mumsnet, in case the shitbag that nearly scuppered her leaving sees my post, but this feels like a quiet little corner. I unintentionally seem to have scared off more recent newbies! I hope they’re safe and happier now. Last time I spoke to them, which was over 18 months ago, they were struggling a bit. It was going to be a while until they got a house and they had to change refuges a few tones. The older one was missing his friends and dad, while the other one was missing the dog, who was actually a partially trained epilepsy dog for the child. (he’s trained to jump up at temperature rises, which is great when you’re hitting menopause!!). So horrible what that man did to his family. And it’s bad enough to hit an animal, but one that was assisting your sick child is even worse. I wish I knew the outcome of the story, I’d love to hear he got prosecuted. Still at least the dog is now relaxed and enjoying his life.
