Well it’s saying it’s being delivered today so I assume it will be.

They have to look after the drivers/vehicles. This is what happened to our post van last week.. They’re pretty good at gritting in this area. One of the few things I’d give our council credit for!

Is it anything exciting OP?

Now that's bad snow - nobody would expect a delivery in that surely!

Talking of gritters, @Sparklingbrook - I've just been told that there is one called Gritsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Anti-Slip Machiney. I didn't realise that naming them was a thing.

Honeyroar · 24/01/2021 12:54

Oh yes, all the gritters around here have names. Nicole Saltslinger, Gritney Spears, Snow Be One Kenobe, to name a few!

Sparklingbrook · 24/01/2021 12:55

Envy at gritters.

This is a picture from the local paper of today's snow.

That's far prettier than our bit of sun

Oblomov20 · 24/01/2021 13:12

Had a delivery a few minutes ago, despite many inches of snow.

midnightstar66 · 24/01/2021 13:12

I do but there is no reason why they can't deliver to where I live, I'm within a mile of the Amazon centre, the delivery I was waiting for is from within two miles and I live in a very, very flat area

Tbf there are lots of Amazon warehouses and your item might be coming from a different one with different road conditions

There are but it's not, the tracking shows you. It's now out for delivery.
Sparklingbrook · 24/01/2021 14:15

Like I said before though 'out for delivery' just means it's in the van, nothing else! The van could be upside down in a ditch.

MatildaStoker · 24/01/2021 14:17

Really it’s better to ask this sort of question on something like a local Facebook page, there’s a lot of variation in weather conditions nationwide. People in your local area will be best placed to give you a sensible answer.

There’s not been one single snowflake where I am.

And just because something’s out for delivery doesn’t mean that the driver will be able to get to your door if the snow is bad and you don’t live on a main road.

Hope4theBestPlan4theWorst · 24/01/2021 14:44

My neighbour is a self employed courier and he chooses what days to work he turns up at the depot and gets allocated his round - usually the one round here - they do Hermes, amazon and DPD all out the same local depot

He was saying the other night when we were talking to them across the drive that if it got really bad he wouldn't be going out if the conditions were dangerous as his insurance excess if he has a prang is more than he'd earn in a day - fair point to be honest, the stuff will just be slightly delayed but it is at the moment anyway as so many people are ordering things.

LIZS · 24/01/2021 16:46

Our arrived on time.

Schoolhouse123 · 24/01/2021 16:50

We had snow last week and live rural amazon couldn't deliver as roads were impassable however did deliver the next day (even though he had to park on main road and walk).

User755 · 24/01/2021 19:57

It’s an iron so needed but nothing exciting. Still no sign of it.
