Chatting at work today and it came to light that of the 5 of us, 3 still live in the same town as they were born in.

I moved a lot as a child and (having used a distance calculator) have worked out I live 445miles from where I was born.

This is the one I used if you're interested in working your's out. www.distancecalculator.net/

I'm about 19 miles away now but I've lived all over, furthest away was over 1000miles.

Dd is about 600 miles from her birthplace which I thought would be further actually.

I have spent only a very small part of my life near my birthplace as dad was army and ex was too hence all the moving about.

I know someone who lives less than 2 miles from where they were born and has never been outside their Uk country - as in they've never even been to other Uk countries. They've absolutely no interest in doing so which is a mindset I find hard to understand but then my life seems odd to them too.

32 miles, although I’ve moved a lot in between, including two international moves.

About 250 miles. Don’t think I will ever go back. If anything I want to move abroad. Not sure where yet but definitely over 1000 miles

I was born in one country, grew up in another and now live in another..

Ladybird69 · 19/01/2021 01:32

Live in the same place where I grew up. Lived away in my 20s to 40s then moved back after divorce and my mum being taken ill. Sadly it’s bit run down now.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 19/01/2021 01:43

I can’t live within 1250 miles of my birthplace without getting some kind of visa.

Thanks Brexit.

I actually live 4300 miles away.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 19/01/2021 01:45

Several thousand miles and I can't actually live in my birthplace without going through several legal hoops.
