I am so fucking bored

BORED. Absolutely fuck all to do. Sick of watching shit on telly, reading, cooking. Sick of going for a fucking walk, I might go whole hog and turn left at the end of that road instead of turning right just for a change, that's the big news here today. The cat shit on the carpet this morning at least cleaning it up gave me something new to do. I want to go to a theme park, I want to go to London for the day, I want to go to the pub, take my Mum out for lunch, get smashed in a beer garden with my mates. Haven't seen the fuckers for months. Go on that luxury solo trip I treated myself to last year that never happened. Just me, my ipod, a massive glass of alcohol and a pool. Instead I'm stuck at home every bastard day driving myself mad with overthinking because there's nothing to distract me. Get me on a fucking plane away from this bullshit. Rant over!!

Can I join in? I'm so bloody bored. I work outside the home during the week, thank god, but I'm so understimulated and ground down with the low level anxiety of it all. Nearly all my stress outlets are socially based and I just keep filling up and overflowing because I'm not getting rid of much of it Sad
My concentration is shot to pieces so reading is out, which I normally love. Getting the dc out for a walk is a battle and one I just can't be arsed with today. But leaving ds on screens all day isn't an option either. We need to be away from this house!! There's nothing to look forward to and, I know it's now relatively short term, but it's taking its toll now.

LadyCatStark · 17/01/2021 12:53

Can’t cope much longer 😭.

megletthesecond · 17/01/2021 12:56

Get a litter picker, it makes the repetitive walks feel worthwhile.

Sexnotgender · 17/01/2021 12:58

@Hobnobswantshernameback

I'm contemplating cleaning my oven Someone talk me down
Don’t do it. It’s a shitty job. I paid someone to clean mine before Christmas, worth every penny.
BamboozledandBefuddled · 17/01/2021 12:59

@trappedsincesundaymorn

It's my weekend off and I'm so bored. I don't even have housework to do as OH is at home 50% of the time so did it all on Friday. having a man that pulls his weight around the home is both a blessing and a curse.
DH made the bed AND did the washing up this morning. Greedy, selfish bastard.
Sexnotgender · 17/01/2021 13:00

I’m another struggling to read, I usually love reading. Don’t know why.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 17/01/2021 13:01

Reading and lockdown just don't seem to go together for me
My concentration is all over the place

@Crankley

Since no-one is going to appear at your door to amuse you, you're going to have to amuse yourself. How about knitting, crocheting, sewing, starting a blog, playing an online game, (some are free), Cook/bake something you've never cooked before, if you have a Kindle you can get free books and games, jigsaws, painting by numbers, much nicer than they used to be, learning online, exploring a museum online like the Smithsonian which has lots of things to do, ditto the British Museum, learn a language, some safari parks have virtual tours, create a 2020 time family box to bury - what would you each put in the box? Get all your friends online and hold a pub quiz - prize to the winner after lockdown, write a book, short stories, poems, learn a musical instrument.

That's all I can think of but there must be something in that lot that you might want to try. If not, I guess you will remain in your comatose state of boredom.

😏 It’s 2021 my dear and we have DONE all of those things, the single most patronising post I’ve seen to date 🤮
Fembot123 · 17/01/2021 13:07

@dementedma

Thank you Crankley. None of that had occurred to those of us whose mental health is so fucked that even getting out of bed is an effort. Must head out for a nice walk. haven’t tried that yet.
😄🙌🏻

Do you know, I was reading this thread in increasing excitement that finally this was a thread where you were just allowed to say: this is SHIT without someone who missed Reading the Room class at school coming in to gently patronise us all for not thinking of going for a walk! Or baking a cake! Or learning a language! Or doing a jigsaw!

Fuck me sideways, if only I'd thought of any of those things! They are JUST the same as being able to visit my parents in Wales. Or go on the holiday we'd planned this year for my 50th. Or allowing my DS the 18th birthday party he'd been thinking of.

Off to read the rest of the thread now to see if any fucker has come on to mention the war, or to remind us to IMAGINE how bored we'd all be on a ventilator. Because if they have, the next sound you hear will be me smashing my iPad up with an axe.

Fembot123 · 17/01/2021 13:17

I feel for you OP it must be shite having to do all this on your own. I have DC’s but I can’t imagine what it’s like to have a toddler right now, you guys give yourself a medal or something as that is tough at the best of times as the days are loooong and now you can’t fill them 😨

Fembot123 · 17/01/2021 13:18

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross, you actually just made me laugh out loud ‘Imagine how bored you’ll be on a ventilator’ 🤣🤣🤣

Throughhistory · 17/01/2021 13:18

Yes to the concentration issues! I can't concentrate on anything at all. Lots of knitting to finish, just can't be arsed. My paints, brushes and watercolour paper are in the cupboard but don't even feel like doing that. The dog is crocked so she can't walk far.

Plus we've sold our house and are in a short term let. Nobody wants to sell their house because of covid so I'm even more fed up.

I don't think reading my Kindle or baking will cut it really and as for another bloody online quiz.... Hmm

Throughhistory · 17/01/2021 13:22

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross that is a top rant Grin Well said

Some of us could use the time to learn the difference between "there" and "their", certainly.
hiredandsqueak · 17/01/2021 13:44

I'm bored too although dd now wants to bake. I love baking but I hate baking with dd. No idea why adding dc makes something nice so bloody tedious but it does. So now I'm fed up as well as bored.

We bought cake. I’m going to eat it when the DC are in bed😂
Hobnobswantshernameback · 17/01/2021 13:48

Oh god
Nobody offer me suggestions
I've made sourdough
And home made pizzas from scratch
I've baked cakes
I've hired a hot tub
I've watched the Crown
Made pasta from scratch
I've done jigsaws
Played board games
FUCK OFF THE LOT OF IT
And knitting my own knickers from lentils isn't the same as the pub, or meeting my friends
Or a holiday
Aaaaggghhhhhhh

carolinesbaby · 17/01/2021 13:51

I'm with you all in the boredom.

I love my house but it feels so claustrophobic. I am stuck here 24/7. With two bored kids, trying to homeschool and work full time and I can't even escape at the weekend. I've cleaned the oven today for something to do.

I want to
Book
A
Holiday.

carolinesbaby · 17/01/2021 13:53

Also, people suggesting I learn a language or visit an online museum can fuck right off.
I just want to go OUT somewhere. Anywhere!

Sexnotgender · 17/01/2021 13:56

Well I’ve now cleaned the downstairs loo. My boredom knows no bounds.

MrsIronfoundersson · 17/01/2021 14:02

I got so bored I did a jigsaw recently - it was really good actually, it said 8 to 10 years but it only took me 3 weeks.

I'm building up to getting my wellies out of the car. Trying to think of it as a trip out.
