I am so fucking bored

BORED. Absolutely fuck all to do. Sick of watching shit on telly, reading, cooking. Sick of going for a fucking walk, I might go whole hog and turn left at the end of that road instead of turning right just for a change, that's the big news here today. The cat shit on the carpet this morning at least cleaning it up gave me something new to do. I want to go to a theme park, I want to go to London for the day, I want to go to the pub, take my Mum out for lunch, get smashed in a beer garden with my mates. Haven't seen the fuckers for months. Go on that luxury solo trip I treated myself to last year that never happened. Just me, my ipod, a massive glass of alcohol and a pool. Instead I'm stuck at home every bastard day driving myself mad with overthinking because there's nothing to distract me. Get me on a fucking plane away from this bullshit. Rant over!!

Just confided in DP that I'm bored, inspired by this thread. He's given me a right telling off. Feel like shit now (and still boredGrin)

tobee · 16/01/2021 23:27

I'm desperate to get away from house! I need to be away from the guilt of not doing all the boring jobs around the house I should be doing! 😭

My current fantasy is going to the shops (haven't been in one since March as shielding husband) and testing all the perfumes. I long to go to a pile of beautifully folded clothes stacked on a glass shelf and disturb them, feeling the crunchy tissue paper that's inside them!

Then you read in the newspapers, and posters on here going on about how people aren't following lockdown properly! We fucking are, you bastards!!

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 16/01/2021 23:29

I am so bored that if I do something I have to drag it out for ages so I have something to do. Matching the socks into pairs was something I rushed to do after work, school, tea getting ready for the morning. Now I make sure I do it in a convoluted way so it takes up more time. The same applies to everything I do.

LadyJaye · 16/01/2021 23:39

I ordered some stuff sacks for outdoor gear, like waterproof trousers, cagoules etc.

They're due to arrive tomorrow, and I'm really excited at the prospect of getting to tidy the Outdoor Gear Box up.

I'm going out of my fucking mind.

Love51 · 16/01/2021 23:42

@toobee sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I went shopping in the September when restrictions were lifted. testers are no longer a thing
You can buy samples on eBay though!

Oatyoatcakes · 16/01/2021 23:45

I've pulled a muscle running, which is disappointing as I was on week 8 of c25k, but the unexpected perk is that I can rub tiger balm on my leg every now and again and my leg feels different for a while

LadyJaye · 16/01/2021 23:49

Mate, try rubbing Tiger Balm on your temples, it makes you see dragons.

Biffsboys · 16/01/2021 23:52

Feeling the same , so bored 😐 We have a 16 week puppy which I was excited about getting out to walk - she won’t walk on a lead 😔 . I’m rapidly heading towards my 2nd lockdown birthday - life is just a bit miserable just now 😭

kateluvscats · 16/01/2021 23:53

@Crankley

Since no-one is going to appear at your door to amuse you, you're going to have to amuse yourself. How about knitting, crocheting, sewing, starting a blog, playing an online game, (some are free), Cook/bake something you've never cooked before, if you have a Kindle you can get free books and games, jigsaws, painting by numbers, much nicer than they used to be, learning online, exploring a museum online like the Smithsonian which has lots of things to do, ditto the British Museum, learn a language, some safari parks have virtual tours, create a 2020 time family box to bury - what would you each put in the box? Get all your friends online and hold a pub quiz - prize to the winner after lockdown, write a book, short stories, poems, learn a musical instrument.

That's all I can think of but there must be something in that lot that you might want to try. If not, I guess you will remain in your comatose state of boredom.

We're not after advice, we want to vent!!!!
Throughhistory · 16/01/2021 23:53

Yep. Me too, and I'm never normally bored. And I want to see DC. Really miss them Sad

Titsywoo · 16/01/2021 23:58

I dont have a chance to be bored as even though I am stuck at home I have a very busy business to run and although I am grateful for that I wish my life was more than work, eat, sleep, repeat. I'm worried about my teens who are bored and lonely.

Oatyoatcakes · 17/01/2021 00:00

@LadyJaye thanks for the tip, I'll save it for another day!

My other entertainment is weighing myself before I go to bed and again when I get up - I have a little bet with myself about how much I will lose overnight

Destinysdaughter · 17/01/2021 00:03

I watched THREE episodes of Midsomer Murders this afternoon as I'm so unmotivated to do anything. And I weirdly enjoyed them as it got me out of my head for a few hours. I play Scrabble online and I'm over excited when I win as that's the only excitement in my life right now!

I have a friend who has an excitable border collie and she has pp literally begging her to walk her dog as they are so fucking bored!

piapiapiano · 17/01/2021 00:07

Yeah I’m so bored that I spent all day waiting (in excitement)to tell the husband that I’d seen a tiny little mouse on the patio. I waited for the right moment when I thought he’d be most attentive and told him, and he said oh.
Oh! fucking oh! that’s all he had to say. I must admit he said it on a nice sort of high pitched, understanding (wife’s bored shitless) way. I repeated myself then that was it.
It’s my birthday next week I’m thinking of smoking some banana skins.

notangelinajolie · 17/01/2021 00:08

Welcome all to my world. You get used to it in the end Smile

Hawkins001 · 17/01/2021 00:10

What about using your time to train new skills or hobbies ? Or educate your mind ?

truetuesdays · 17/01/2021 00:14

Same

I've started learning Russian

BurtonHouse · 17/01/2021 00:29

Fuck me, but it does get tedious.
Put on my reddest lippy just to walk to the Co-OP and wear a mask.
And the less I do the less I want to do so I'm getting slower and slower like a glacier.
Yesterday I bit the bullet and cleaned the house but left the ironing so I'd have something to look forward to. Dire. I'd slit my wrists but I can't be arsed.

Lyricallie · 17/01/2021 00:29

I feel you all so much. Also to the people being like learn a new skill etc. I work all week doing complicated calculations and having to deal with people being daft. The last thing I want to do on my down time is learn a language or something. It's like all these zoom quizzes I don't want to think. I even said to my friends, can we just have a chat and not play a game our next zoom.

I have done all the walks here so many times. I miss my friends and family as they are a 6 hour drive away. I just want to go on a night out, get chips on the way home and go out for a coffee and a debrief the next day.

Also I'm decorating my house so I have plenty to do I just want to do something else.

I've started playing stardew valley again on the switch - year 4 winter 😂

LadyJaye · 17/01/2021 00:39

@Hawkins001

What about using your time to train new skills or hobbies ? Or educate your mind ?
Good lord! I'd never thought of such a thing!

Thank you so much, @Hawkins001, for deigning to bring all us useless indolents up to speed! The veil has surely been torn from my eyes and I shall endeavour to improve myself forthwith!

Alternatively, you could fuck off.

Hawkins001 · 17/01/2021 00:41

lady better manners and debate would you agree would be more productive about how people can enhance there skills and knowledge during lockdown, ?

Noti23 · 17/01/2021 00:46

This thread is my daemon right now. My parter is so bored he’s started making his own wine. One batch is supposed to be apple and mango but it tastes distinctly of beef flavoured crisps. I’m drinking beef flavoured wine right now because I’m so bored and I can’t sleep anymore.

LadyJaye · 17/01/2021 00:49

'Their'.
Joiningthegossip · 17/01/2021 00:50

Gosh same here... so so bored!

I've always been a full time working mum to suddenly not working & homeschooling two bored children! Husband is working every hour he can to top up my wage, and he wonders why I have nothing to talk about in the evenings... I guess I can tell you that I done more housework and I suck at homeschooling.
My weekly entertainment now is picking up my food shop from Asda, it's a real outing. I even put on make up for the special occasion.
