For me it's Gin.

Skiing. Particularly the first day, when I spend most of the time wondering why Ive spent a small fortune to wear the most uncomfortable footwear ever created. Then the morning on day 2 on the way downstairs to breakfast when Im usually wondering if i'll ever walk normally again.

Sex and the City.

It was so glamorous and aspirational when I was 21, but 20 years on I've realised how awful and shallow they all were.

Soaps. Surely it's about time they died a death? They have exhausted every story line imaginable and real life just isn't like that for the majority of people.

Cocktails. I've had one in my whole life that I though wow that was lovely. The rest have been over priced crap. I have given up now.

Camera filters. Why do people post pictures of themselves looking baby faced and about 5 stone lighter than they actually are, with big bug eyes and pointy chins. Everyone knows you don't actually look like that. The filter is so strong you can hardly see their features .

Pets. I have one. I love him, but they just restrict your life so much.

Neighbours. Not the show the people you happen to live next door to. I've had 2 lovely neighbours. My last lot were absolutely awful. Its part of the reason I love living in an apartment building. No one knows me and I dont want to know them.

Hot tubs unless at a spa. Dirty, noisy and smelly. Especially when coupled with neighbours who think they are so successful having an off brand second hand lazy spa.

Gardening. It is not relaxing. It is hard and dirty work.

Totally agree on the gin. I’m happy with a good old fashioned G&T with ice & a slice.
Peoples obsession with “reality” TV, made in Chelsea, love island, X factor and all those other crap shows.

The vast majority of shite over priced clothing. Frilly collars.

Ludicrous big weddings in decorated barns with masses of identically dressed bridesmaids and a similar number of men to hold the groom’s hand. Lots of photographs are taken from every conceivable angle; in fact, the relentless photographing and the endless videoing get in the way of the actual occasion.

Ditto to corny beach weddings.

Going out to eat at overpriced, “Emperor’s new clothes” type restaurants. They are conning everyone who steps into their stark establishment to partake of jus and foam and art instead of actual food.

Clothing which is hideously overpriced. An example would be a “piece” of lower body wear which is fawned over and gasped about...although it is, in fact, merely a pair of ripped jeans. Lol

“Strictly”- ugh can hardly bear to say the word.

Another vote for Nando's. The only thing I like is their peri-peri sauce but I can get that from a shop so I don't have to go to a restaurant for it.

I think your comments show how much you don't understand or know how to use Facebook.

We have a few local community Facebook pages. From those I knew why we weren't getting any posts - covid related, I knew why our bin collection had been missed and when it would be collected, I know which roads are blocked with snow and ice, I know why the M1 is closed, I can get personal recommendations for plumbers/electricians/joiners, all of which are local.

Facebook is such a useful resource. You don't have to post on it at all, you don't even need to "befriend" anyone either. You can use Facebook, it doesn't have to use you.

Sliders (shoes not burgers) especially the fluffy ones.
Scallops, nice enough but expensive for what you get.
