For me it's Gin.
It's taking over the flipping spirit aisles with pink gin, rhubarn gin, parma violet gin, orange marmalde gin 😡

Get a grip folks...you've sucumbbed to marketing!!

Selfies of pouting women posing in their underwear - as seen in the Daily Mail online - always women are either " flaunting" or "showcasing their new abs" or "sizzling".

SoDiorDarling · 13/01/2021 10:01

Yes - people trying to portray the perfect instalife. Posing like it's a paid ad Confused

Grey interiors, mirrored awfulness.

Most tv, to be honest, especially reality tv. I get that for lots of people it’s a shared experience, enjoying something like Strictly together, but I don’t really get why people enjoy it other than that.

Competitive exercise. I just can’t get excited about why I should chase a ball or whatever. I don’t get caught up in it, ever. I’d rather walk or swim or do something that’s just relaxing and enjoyable as well as exercising. Full disclosure- I know this is just me and I’m not hating on anyone who loves five a side or whatever.

Most miracle skincare products. The single biggest difference to my skin was made by staying hydrated, daily cleansing with a hot flannel, sleeping better and enjoying regular fresh air. I’ve never looked significantly better as the result of using a more expensive product.

Designer bags - at the end of the day they just carry things!

praepondero · 13/01/2021 10:31

Fitbits et al - just get off your arse and walk.
Take-aways - the vast majority are shit, overpriced and tasteless.
Nando's - even my DC say the food is crap there.
Cinemas - pay through your nose to watch a film that would be available on different media in a couple of months' time (to be enjoyed in a peaceful manner at ones' own home), surrounded by burger-chomping, smelly and noisy hoi polloi, just why?
Public swimming pools, as in all pools apart from private ones - yuck, bathing in a soup of strangers' skin ells, toe fluff, sweat and other dribbles of bodily fluids. Ghastly.

SilkyMoonfaceandTheSaucepanMan · 13/01/2021 10:31

@Takebackthepower - perhaps it's your partners that are doing it wrong? Keep trying, it'll be so worth it Wink

SilkyMoonfaceandTheSaucepanMan · 13/01/2021 10:33

Yes to cinemas @praepondero. Cannot see the point. Sometimes take the kids to the cheap Saturday viewings, on a rainy day. Pre Covid, of course.

Tyke2 · 13/01/2021 10:33

Cats. What's the point?

StepOutOfLine · 13/01/2021 10:34

God yes, cinemas. If I want to watch a film I don't want my shoes on.

StepOutOfLine · 13/01/2021 10:38

@Cokie3

Tea - it's disgusting! Coffee is much better The TV show Friends Bali - never understood why people wanted to go there Any of those 'juice cleanses'
Friends! Yes! I read a thing years ago saying whoever thought that rubbish actors opening and closing doors to the sound of hysterical laughing from a cattle-prodded audience would be a goer.
MrDinklesOhSnap · 13/01/2021 10:42

Friends!! 😂 That was one of mine I forgot to list. Completely, utterly overrated and dull. At the time I was so meh about it but watching old episodes now, it seems even worse.

Coniferhedge · 13/01/2021 11:03

Coffee and coffee shops. I stopped at traffic lights outside my local park last week and several adults crossed with a variety of babies, toddlers and children. Every single adult was clutching a disposable cup of coffee from one of the local coffee chains. Why? Can you not go one hour, or maybe two without a hot drink? I find it bizarre.

Also agree with PP who mentioned holidays. Hugely expensive, very stressful (especially with children) and once you get home what have you to show for it apart from a few holiday snaps and maybe a couple of shells from the beach or tacky souvenirs?

PuppyMonkey · 13/01/2021 11:10

Gravy.

@SpiderGwen

Not just flavoured gins, flavoured everything. Let stuff taste of itself without adding artificial strawberry or lime or whatnot. Those bottles of water or ciders with flavours added are vile. Want strawberry? Eat a damned strawberry then.
I don't mind fruit flavoured waters, but why do they always have to add sweeteners to them?

SpiderGwen · 13/01/2021 12:30

Summer Olympics - it’s basically sports day.
A cheeky Nando’s - what’s cheeky about it? Putting an adjective in front of a naff chain restaurant doesn’t make it any better.

SmellyPooHead · 13/01/2021 12:32

Truffles, just yuck

Chanel05 · 13/01/2021 12:37

Adele. Can't bear her music/voice/obnoxiousness.
Coffee.
Getting a coffee before work. Total waste of money imo.
Joe Wicks.
Instagram home accounts asking for 'likes' and 'show me some love'.
Instagram uses asking for 'your assumptions about me'. It's just another way for people to feel like their ego is being massaged.
London.
Wine.
People 'Hinching'. You're cleaning, there's nothing groundbreaking about this.

Gingerkittykat · 13/01/2021 12:38

My shark stick vacuum. I'm gutted I spent £180 on Black Friday for something that just spits out the cat litter that my cats track from the tray. It's great at sucking up pet hair without clogging but otherwise pretty poor. I've seen a couple of reviews saying the same thing and really don't understand why people rave about them.
