@MrsDoctorDear

Anyone for a custard tart? Yes please my favourite! What are those little Spanish(?) custard thingies, they are the best.
Pastel de Nata. Morrisons didn't have them. Sad

Thank you BIWI shall I start a thread in Site Stuff?

EssentiallyDelighted · 07/01/2021 14:42

I hid AIBU years ago and my MNing experience is much better for it. Relationships hidden too.

Aworldofmyown · 07/01/2021 14:46

Ooh lovely. I could use a non covid space.

BIWI · 07/01/2021 15:16

Oh yes do, @Sparklingbrook!

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2021 15:17

It'll probably be a no-but I'll ask. It could have the vote enabling and everything.

@ssd don't go out there. It's minus 4 here and the pavements are lethal.

ssd · 07/01/2021 15:23

Actually, mn could start a whole new SITE for Coronavirus AIBU?

ssd · 07/01/2021 15:24

I know that feeling. Still have chocolate and booze from Christmas. I have to drive at 6pm otherwise I would have poured myself a rum and coke by now.
ssd · 07/01/2021 15:30

Oh yes, spiced rum and Pepsi max here too

Actually, I usually sneak a few quality street in my coat pocket if I go a walk....

iklboo · 07/01/2021 15:40

DH has just brought some spiced apple & ginger gin home. If I warm it up will count as a medicinal hot toddy? Grin

UpShutTheFuck · 07/01/2021 15:42

We have been watching Rick Stein this week. I made his gouda and apple quesadillas last night and they were bloody delicious. My new favourite treat.

I've just realised they are not called Fluffy Bunnies, they are called 'Bunny Bites'. I used to have a rabbit that did just that.

snowy0wl · 07/01/2021 15:56

Ooooh hello. My ears pricked up at the mention of Pastel de Natas. I was first introduced to them three years ago on a trip to Portugal. 🙂

Pastel de nata (I think) they are so good.

I have the concentration of a nat & my brain feels tired today. So I'm currently drinking coffee like it's going out of fashion which I'm not sure is helping...

Samcro · 07/01/2021 16:11

so nice to see people talking about serious stuff like marmite.
woke up in a bad mood today, so have stayed awy.

I knew this board existed but forgot what it was called (why does it have 'The' at the start?)

Anyway, I'm enjoying my Christmas present of a Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser. I saw a TV program on HC in Oct and then there was a thread here somewhere about how good they are so we ordered one for me.

I like the 50% and the 70% and the Orange. Wasn't keen on the praline, need to try the mint next I think.

profilechange · 07/01/2021 16:31

I had a debate with ds college lecturer today. College are great but it's all very well them telling me has to provide a level standard reports alongside his programme software work but the child had 1:1 in gcse English!
They keep saying he can access 1:1 online - brilliant! But what bit of he needs telling what he needs help with is hard to understand? He doesn't realise his language is basic and not communicative enough - he's autistic! He has barely any theory of mind or executive function.

High intelligence is often seen as capability.

DriveThroughSwabber · 07/01/2021 17:42

Can I join in? I'm afraid my job (and username) are c-word related, and I'm off work this week with c-word cough/asthma, so I'm a little bit sick of it. I hid the C topic months ago...

I went for a lovely and very chilly walk today in my local country park (in very urban London). It was very calming and quiet, although rather muddy.

itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 17:47

May I suggest buying welly socks. I've treated myself and they are fantastic! I'm quite urban (town 10 mins walk one way and fields 10 minutes the other). And oh yes the mud! Ankle deep clay mud that likes to harden quickly and leave a trail like Hansel and gretel!

But the fields are quite sheltered from the wind. Sometimes I drove to beach (10 mins/3 miles) and walk along there but in this biting wind it's a bit fresh on the cheeks!
