I did fall asleep around 12 and have just woke up now I don't know why but unlucky for me I'm now wide awake 😭 I guess it's stress, not particularly because of current situation just other factors in my life.
anyway I read Mumsnet all day/night so decided to see why is everyone else awake?

Haven't slept yet. On third day of new eating plan and really craving cereal! lol Don't know why I can't sleep...

Silkiechickscat · 04/01/2021 04:35

I also had the 15 year old cooking a meal at 2.45am and then trying to talk to me for ages. Told her DH was trying to sleep and she said are you trying to get rid of me?

MillieMooBee · 04/01/2021 04:37

Bloody tendonitis pain.... 😔

Hope everyone manages to get through the day OK! x

Snowbeau · 04/01/2021 04:39

Another teacher worried about what the morning will bring.
I know my team will have so many questions that I just don't have answers for

Mochatatts · 04/01/2021 04:39

Night shift, only 8 more til maternity leave. Haven't slept well the last few days either. I'm a silent stand off with my OH over being treated like a door mat. Trying to decided what to do. I love him but his kids are slowly driving me mad. Brains full of indecision, babys due in less than 6 weeks and I don't feel we're ready. Haven't seen my boys since Wednesday, contact arrangements over Xmas were rubbish, again 😑

lovelemoncurd · 04/01/2021 04:41

Back at work in a few hours and it's stressful.

Trying to read up on all the info I've been sent as I've volunteered to be a vaccinator and there's a National Immunisation and Vaccs system I have to log onto and it seems complicated. There's also lots of online training stuff but I will cross that bridge after this!

Babyiwantabump · 04/01/2021 04:44

Was on night shift yesterday so slept all day today then got up for a bit . Then slept till 2am and am now wide awake !

MrsM36 · 04/01/2021 04:44

Wide awake here too... yr1 TA who is not looking forward to being back in the classroom with 26 small children in 4hrs time... social distancing... what's that?? Have not slepr well the last few nights Hmm

holesinmypants · 04/01/2021 04:50

I’m turning our house into Hogwarts for eldest’s lockdown birthday tomorrow! But the baby woke up so I’ve had to take a break from decorating the slightly sinister Hedwig birthday cake to feed her.

Winterfellismyhome · 04/01/2021 04:55

Stupid work Sad

Dyra · 04/01/2021 04:56

Baby's teething. 16mo. Been awake since 3. KMN.

I think there's a premolar working it's way out. DD's been waking up and taking literally hours to get back to sleep. On top of this, I have a touch of insomnia, so only fell asleep at around 1 in the first place. I have to start getting ready for a 12 hour shift in just under 45 minutes to boot.

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 04/01/2021 05:37

Not been to sleep yet but rarely do due to a lot of years working nights. I usually spend the night in bed reading the news or on here.

SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 04/01/2021 05:39

Needed the loo

wejammin · 04/01/2021 05:47

Been awake about an hour, 2 year old woke me up and needed singing back to sleep, then felt really anxious generally, my brain won't relax.
Realised I couldn't remember the pin number to one of my bank cards and then panicked that I couldn't remember any of my pin numbers - I have 5, plus all the various online banking codes, and they've all flown out of my head.
DC1 will be a nightmare to get to school this morning - he's autistic and hates routine change so first day back is always stressful for him, but equally waiting for another govt U-turn at any moment.

Peridot1 · 04/01/2021 06:03

Woke up an hour or so ago as dreamt the dog was barking. She wasn’t.

If I wake up I often really struggle to go back to sleep till around 7. Thankfully I don’t have to be up for anything. Although the dog will probably start barking around 7.30. And DH never hears her. So I’ll be up with her.

Really feel for everyone who is worried about schools going back or not going back. It’s such a nightmare.

TeddyBeans · 04/01/2021 06:10

Another school worrier here. I went to bed late hoping it would make me tired enough to fall asleep quickly... It didn't and now I'm exhausted. Luckily we have no children in today

feelingdizzy · 04/01/2021 06:11

Woke at 4.30am ,I'm a headteacher need I say more Confused

PreRaphaeliteMotherhood · 04/01/2021 06:13

Just fed the baby and can’t decide whether to go back to sleep for an hour or so, or whether to get up and have a nice bath whilst everyone else sleeps.

lovelemoncurd · 04/01/2021 06:14

@feelingdizzy I'm sure you are feeling dizzy. Hugs.

Silkiechickscat · 04/01/2021 06:25

DD just been to see me again - this time she says she's going running now. I point out its pitch dark. She says it will be light by 6.30am then says oh no it won't and no school so I could run during PE lessons. I said much better idea.

Dogatetheleftovers · 04/01/2021 07:07

FlyingSquid 💐 for you. I know how tough it is to be worrying about the MH of family members. You get so torn in different directions and the effect it has on our other DCs. Like you, I’ve been told by one that they can’t wait to move out and get away from such a stressful situation. It breaks my heart. Just wanted to let you know that I’m thinking about you and hope today is an easier one for you.

FlyingSquid · 04/01/2021 08:05

Thanks, Dogatealltheleftovers - I feel I’m whingeing given my problems are secondhand, so to speak, but I really appreciate that.

(Love your user name. Our dog ate the Thornton’s, but luckily there’s not much actual chocolate in that.)

FlyingSquid · 04/01/2021 08:07

On the plus side, I gave up on sleeping and put in two hours of work, so it’s now coffee time already.

Dogatetheleftovers · 04/01/2021 08:25

FlyingSquid Our dog ate an entire box of brownies last year. This year, our backs were turned and it was the rest of the turkey and trimmings! I’m glad you’ve managed to do some work. I can’t focus on anything, I’ve put the tv news on and getting steadily more stressed! Just waiting for everyone else to wake up and then another day of delicate handling of their various needs will ensue.

FlyingSquid · 04/01/2021 08:30

I feel for you! I do so miss having other people - normal, stressed but not desperate people - regularly in my life as a counterweight.

I love them all, but oh god...
