Why are you awake?

I did fall asleep around 12 and have just woke up now I don't know why but unlucky for me I'm now wide awake 😭 I guess it's stress, not particularly because of current situation just other factors in my life.
anyway I read Mumsnet all day/night so decided to see why is everyone else awake?

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/01/2021 03:35

No particular reason, just my sleep is all over the place.

Namechangenumber2569 · 04/01/2021 03:37

Worrying and stressing. Mainly about a work situation but also just life in general. Have had very little sleep for over a week now and lack of sleep most definitely does not agree with me. Have taken a diazepam which I’m hoping will calm me a little.

hotcrosswhat · 04/01/2021 03:37

I'm anxious about various things and I keep needing the bathroom (22 weeks pregnant). I hope you all get some rest soon Brew

Mally2020 · 04/01/2021 03:38

About to start as a vaccinator for the next year, having one last home 'sesh' , catching up on tv (gadget man etc) and generally having chill night

angelhorror · 04/01/2021 03:45

I am worried about my mother's mental health as she never, ever admits weakness and she's just today told me she's not coping, I have realised that she can no longer read, she's telling me she has hay fever and refuses to get a covid test, her second dose of the vaccination has been postponed, I'm worried about my DC's a levels and GCSEs, I'm worried about going back into school with all the children today. Other then that I'm fine.

YewandOak · 04/01/2021 03:47

Just can't settle. Wide awake. It's 3.46am for crying out loud! Sleep, where are you?

Schehezarade · 04/01/2021 03:52

I've always had sleep problems - it's getting worse as I get older, days are soooo long.

Ffsffsffsffsffs · 04/01/2021 03:55

I'm going to be in a classroom of 30 kids in 4 hours, feel like I've not slept well for 4 or 5 nights, dreading this week Daffodil

crazycatlady7 · 04/01/2021 03:57

Fed DS an hour ago- settled him 30mins ago, but he's restless so haven't drifted off yet.

Today is going to be an interesting day for most of us. I'm a SEN teacher and die back Thursday so waiting to see what unfolds- I'm highly likely to be in still as all students I work with are vulnerable. I just wish Boris wouldn't hint at things just do it. It makes me more anxious with the hints and then the delays while watching the numbers rise.

I hope you all get some sleep. 🤞

WankPuffins · 04/01/2021 03:58

I'm currently sat in the living room trying to placate a 4 month old and an 86 year old, both are upset and confused.

At least the 4 month old will be soothed by hugs and teething gel.

Boopeedoop · 04/01/2021 04:01

Am on my "lunch" break at work. Ambulance care assistant.

aliloandabanana · 04/01/2021 04:01

I've been up since 1am with D&V. Getting better now. I'm hoping the rest of the family don't come down with it, as we've all eaten the same today, and wondering what caused it.

LividLovely · 04/01/2021 04:02

Needed a wee but bedsharing baby and loo is on floor below.

Couldn’t risk baby rolling off bed (though he’s big enough to bounce I’m sure) and didn’t want to wake lightly sleeping husband so baby had to come over my shoulder, down the stairs and for a wee with me. He stayed asleep until bottom stair and was good enough to stay quiet on his adventure and not wake DH.

That was an hour ago. Yes, I need to get him to sleep in his own cot. No, he never has. Yes, I’m sure it is a rod for my own back.

FlyingSquid · 04/01/2021 04:09

Worrying about my oldest, who says doesn’t see any point in going on at the moment (early 20s, long-standing depression).

Worrying about DH, same problem, early 50s.

Worrying about my mum and MIL, who both have been hit hard by lockdown isolation. Selfishly worried that DH has just said we’ll have MIL to stay, as I can see that becoming a long term situation.

Worrying about the effects this is having on youngest, who is surrounded relentlessly by depressed and worried people and can’t wait to leave home.

And I’m behind on work and need to be actually able to think.

Silkiechickscat · 04/01/2021 04:13

Trying to exchange and complete on house sale and getting very stressed lockdown will stop it all and we really need it to go through.

Then its teaching SN DS from home for 2 weeks minimum so 2 weeks of whining, screaming, throwing self on floor and me doing 90% of everything and DD is in y10 so worried about her too.

Then its DS's birthday but Tier 4 so nothing open and can't meet friends and he won't communicate with friends outside school anyway.

Trying to watch Netflix film to not think about things too much.

changed1 · 04/01/2021 04:17

Night shift

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 04/01/2021 04:19

Feeding baby (almost 4 months)

Frownette · 04/01/2021 04:19

I'm up now anyway, no chance I can get back to sleep.

I had a cup of tea and a banana, did a bit of tidying, may go for another cup of tea and watch something.

Cherryup · 04/01/2021 04:21

I'm not sleeping due to worry about the current situation work/schools closing. Atm everyone is furloughed now except me, if they shut schools I will need to be at home as DH is a keyworker. It won't go down well.

Also worrying about schools still being open but don't want them to close for DS mental health sake, he is 10 and an only, he was so lonely last time.

Need to be up in an hour and a half, it's not going to be a good first day back in!

Silkiechickscat · 04/01/2021 04:22

I just finished the pack of fudge I got yesterday, was worried it was too many calories in one go but this way it counts as over 2 days.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 04/01/2021 04:27

I'm heavily pregnant and I've been up till this time for the past few weeks every night. Doesnt seem to matter if I have a nap during the day or not, so today dp was out with the youngest and I slept for hours. I'm in a lot of pain and feel like shit, and generally, if I put the phone down before I'm really tired I just lie and panic about labour.

Nameandgamechange123 · 04/01/2021 04:28

I havnt been able to sleep all night! Terrible anxiety!

safariboot · 04/01/2021 04:29

I'm a severe night owl and the Christmas break has sent me into my usual ways.

I start work at 1 so being up now isn't that bad.

ginislife · 04/01/2021 04:31

18 year old woke me up crashing around the house and singing !!! Obviously been cooking something as well as the house now stinks of frying food. He's now gone to bed and I'm wide awake. Got to be up in 2 hours for work ! Grrrrr

LadyPenelope68 · 04/01/2021 04:31

Worried sick about being back teaching today in Primary due to the huge rising of numbers of cases in our area AND a new Headteacher starting today that, due to Covid restrictions, most of us haven’t even met yet.
