Something sparkly to replace my tree

Going to the take the Christmas tree down in the next few days but will really miss my twinkly lights in the evening. Any recommendations for something to replace it with that will still make me feel cosy in the evenings? I've seen a light up twig tree thing in Argos, it's got white lights though and I wanted a warmer white/yellowy lights.

Great ideas, I knew I'd get some good ones asking here! Now the question is, how many fairy lights are too many? Grin

You can never have too many OP Grin

I’ve just put up a fairy light curtain across the patio doors. It’s a string across the top and then multiple strings hanging down. Warm white from Amazon.

I’ve also rebadged my Christmas hanging lights as winter lights and left them up!

AlanThePig · 03/01/2021 13:32

I've left the lights on the boat in the front, also put some plain warm white fairy lights in a goldfish bowl type vase in the window. Makes it all a bit brighter.

I use hue colour lights in the living room anyway so I set a mad, colourful theme to cheer me up.

I have an essential oil diffuser light.
As well as making the home smell lovely, you have a lovely led light display.
You can hold it one colour if you wish.
I’m looking into colour therapy as a way of healing and this is great to play some relaxing music and absorb the light

Red and green are excellent btw

I have rainbow coloured Cable & Cotton lights around my door frame in my living room. They are like fairy lights with cotton balls over them. Love them. Have another set in my bedroom too.
Love that you can choose what colours you want on their website and also rearrange them. I had them in rainbow order and then last week rearranged them into mixed colours. Love them!

We've got a twig fibre optic tree which we've left on the sideboard in the dining room. We've also ordered some fibre optic LED twig lights that you can put in a vase which we're going to try out in the living room.

We've left up the blue lights that my husband put down the stairs. They give a nice glow in the evening. He was all for leaving the lights up outside but I thought that was a bit much!

January and February are going to be pretty bleak without our usual distractions

Cable and Cotton lights are beautiful. That’s exactly what I’ve been looking for.

We have a lantern with colour changing bulb. It is so warm, calm and relaxing- one of my best buys of 2020

Lemonyfuckit · 03/01/2021 19:58

This thread is inspiring me! We just took the tree down too which I hate, it's so pretty, I hate to get rid of it. We have lots of nice lamps, and inspired by a trip to Copenhagen we put fairy lights on the balcony. Had them up all year however in December the estate management sent an email to all residents saying we couldn't have fairy lights on balconies as they are a fire hazard. Fire hazard my arse, and noticed a fair amount of people ignored that over Christmas so we may consider periodically ignoring that and sticking them on for a bit, but now I'm thinking there's nothing stopping me putting some other fairy lights up inside.

It's cold and dark, we're in a pandemic, fuck it, fairy lights make everything look twinkly and pretty.

Calmontheoutsider · 03/01/2021 22:54

Have a look at the website Blaze On. Really pretty, non-Christmassy lights.

Got to Google cable and cotton and blaze on

evilharpy · 04/01/2021 06:38

We have a Himalayan salt lamp in the living room. It's not sparkly like fairy lights but it gives off the most beautiful soft light and makes the whole room feel cosy and warm.

Also have a set of rechargeable tea lights with little frosted covers that I dot around the place and put in various candle holders.
