DH is baking a frangipani tart with mincemeat which smells amazing. He’s made it before & it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. DD12 is in her room as per usual. I’ve been for an eyetest & ended up with a bill for over £300 for new frames & prescription sunglasses! Very glad I will get paid for overtime tomorrow! Also checked out the Boots sale ( shelves stripped virtually bare) & got next year’s family Christmas cards halfprice in the Card Factory. Trying to work out what we need to do now we’re heading for Tier 3. DH & I will still be working but I may have to take time off as DD isn’t going back to school until mid January & can no longer be looked after by DM & DF.

Having coffee. Contemplating life, the universe and everything. Not feeling very happy today. Maybe need more coffee...

The kids are playing Kirby on the switch and waiting for DH to make them hot chocolate because we've just come in from playing in the snow.

DH hasn't started the hot chocolate because he was filling a hot water bottle for the ferrets, who were out in the snow with us in their little bare feet. They like to be little snowploughs and push heaps of snow along with their noses.

I'm going to make hot porridge for the chickens and guinea fowl in a bit, and we've put a load of food out for the wild birds and broken the ice on their various water sources.

It has clouded over a lot since we were out, something is going to fall although I think it'll be rain. I'm glad we went out early.

We're probably just going to play games for the rest of the day - christmas-themed monopoly has been a big hit, and we have Uno Flip to try, plus DS got a new chess set because he kept breaking pieces of mine. Then we've pizza for dinner and, with the year that's in it, I may very well stay up till midnight for once just to see the back of the fucker.

I’m preparing dinner for later on and making spag bol for lunch. Completed the dreaded ironing this morning.

Dcs all doing homework or revising for mocks, although not sure when they will be.

Dh gone to work but will be back for lunch. Think I’ll will be staying in today as it’s really icy outside and I’m very clumsy 😆

I've tidied up, swept, washed towels and washed what felt like a mountain of pots. I'm considering whether I cba with much else while I have a coffee.

I think the girls moved out in the night; I've not set eyes on either of them yet

I'm making a crochet rainbow mandala and thinking about teaching online again next week, wondering how I can make my lessons more interactive.

Dp is putting the fire on

Ds is in the back room playing a nerf battle with his friend. We're Tier 4 but his friend's mum is a lone parent and needs to work so pal stayed overnight

Me and ds made some pokemon Lego this morning. We've just finished eating the sausage on toast that dp made and we're all going to play Mario on Ds's new Switch in a bit.

I've done a load of laundry and I'm currently persecuting playing with the hamster.

Dh is sulking as he had an outside solo activity thing booked today but we got put in tier 4 so its now not on and he is just going a little stir crazy , walks the dog everyday but finds it hard to sit still.
Ds are both in rooms on xboxes they haven't really been out much at all
Im watching another crap film and eating crap, said to dh we need to eat before new year then just het heathy things in
Having a few party bits for tea tonight , so no dinner to prepare try and do a zoom thing with parents etc later and make something of it being new years eve, just to say good riddance to this year if nothing else

Lucysmam, I always enjoyed the threads you started like this and reading what your girls were up to, as well as about your crafting. Hope you don’t think I’m being nosey but did you and your girls dad get back together? I remember you saying when you had split.

Cut the kids hair and they’ve all had a bath and a hair wash. They played football on the beach while I had a swim. Now they are on their kindles while I have a nap and DH cooks a roast dinner. Card games tonight!

My kids have been arseholes today so they have just gone to clean their teeth before a lengthy story and wind down time towards bed. We’ve taken down the Christmas decs today ready for a fresh start tomorrow. Tonight my husband and I will do some writing, then kill a bottle of Prosecco and play a couple of stupid board games before bed for a giggle.
