My lovely friend had her beautiful baby boy last night. They've not put anything on social media yet so I thought I'd ask here! I want to get her a few little bits that I can leave on the doorstep. I made her a hamper a month back but I'd like to get some little bits for baby now we know he's a boy.

So, what did somebody buy for your baby that you absolutely loved?
And also, what would have loved to/did you receive that was useful/thoughtful/unexpected but loved?

I'm so excited for them and also so disappointed that I can't offer more support thanks to bloody Covid! Not that I'd push it on them anyway of course! But I just want her to know I'm here and thinking of her if she needs anything

Ewan! Of course! How could I forget that! Thank you
I'm going against the grain here, but to give you balanced input, Ewan was just an expensive cuddly toy for us! Might be worth seeing whether it would be useful before buying...

Loving all the "care package" ideas on here... you sound like a lovely friend.

Definitely definitely food!!! If you’re worried about stepping on toes, get some nourishing meals that are microwaveable/shove in the oven no effort, and which can be frozen!! Invaluable that first month!! ☺️

@Salapandas

Cook vouchers. Lots and lots of cook vouchers.
Funnily enough, our DC was only saying earlier this week that Cook meals were the most appreciated gift of all when they had their baby.

A beautiful silver pendant with his birthstone.
A lovely story book she can read to him from.
Baby grows (you never have enough of these).
A baby blanket.
Vouchers for take away meals.
If she has a bath in her home, some lovely luxury scented bath oil.
A nice pyama for her that is comfortable.
Handcream.

Haven't rtft- a friend of mine made flapjack, it was the perfect snack, filling, sweet, full of oats and easy to eat with one hand.
Also a balloon 🎈 I kept it with one from my wedding
