Wuhan Wet Market Accountability

AverageContents · 26/12/2020 22:23

I know this is a stupid question, which is why I can't ask anyone irl!

Why hasn't the wet market in Wuhan been held accountable for this pandemic? Why is it allowed to operate as it always has?

OP posts:
AverageContents · 26/12/2020 23:31

Why would American soldiers do that though?

OP posts:
21833efb · 26/12/2020 23:32

I don't think it originated in the wet markets...

AverageContents · 26/12/2020 23:33

Where do you think it came from?

OP posts:
2magpies1pigeon · 26/12/2020 23:34

Whatever. A number of Chinese people from different regions of China told me the same thing about a small group of American soldiers in Wuhan.

2magpies1pigeon · 26/12/2020 23:35

I'm not suggesting it's true. There's a propaganda war going on.

Iamthewombat · 26/12/2020 23:36

What is a ‘power at be’? The same poster mentioned it in two separate posts so not an unintentional typo.

AverageContents · 26/12/2020 23:37

But why would American soldiers do that?
That sounds made up to me. Just anti-american tittle tattle.

I don't know what a power at be is.

The powers that be, maybe? Who are they though?

Characters from the Buffy spin off 'Angel'?

@Onedropbeat

Because the powers at be know it didn’t start there
#powers that be

Sorry 😞

Iamthewombat · 26/12/2020 23:43

Using the phrase “the powers that be” is embarrassing enough without misunderstanding the sense of it and writing “the powers at be”.

shamalidacdak · 26/12/2020 23:49

I thought that theory was debunked. It was a leak from a lab.

I thought it had been shown that it wasn't a leak from a lab either.

Posted without comment... prominent biodefense research lab shut down summer 2019 for severe safety violations.

GirlCrush · 27/12/2020 00:16

I thought it came from MINK

In Denmark

Thy just slaughtered thousands and now one with covid has escaped in the U.S

Onedropbeat · 27/12/2020 00:16

Love the pedantry though

Yes the Danes acted a bit hastily there

They seem quite embarrassed

DecemberDiana · 27/12/2020 00:23

I thought it wasn't the market.

OhWhyNot · 27/12/2020 00:41

An investigation is under way by WHO Scientists in Wuhan at present I doubt it will be able to come up with anything substantial

There are many questionable issues that the Chinese government cover up and
are certainly trying to shift any blame from themselves at present

CuteBear · 27/12/2020 00:44

@LilQueenie

There has been strains of the virus found in spain from as far back as March 2019. It did not originate in Nov/Dec from China let alone the wet market placed there. The current new strains have developed from the virus mutating in different areas of the world at the same time. That's the nature of a virus.
I was about to mention Spain. Racists are quick to resort to harmful stereotypes. Most Chinese people don’t eat dogs and bats. People in Europe and Africa eat those animals too. Someone mentioned foie gras earlier and I agree that’s cruel.

Hmm so you’re quick to call East Asians, specifically Chinese, dirty and feral, but you won’t hear anything against Americans? The US caused the 1918 “Spanish” flu, bird flu, swine flu. They still have the plague. The US hates Asia and picks a country to fight with every decade or so. Research the propaganda against Vietnam, Korea and Iraq. Look at what they did to innocent people in Japan during WWII. Generations are still reeling from the nasty effects of the nuclear bombs.

We don’t know for sure where this virus originated.

DecemberDiana · 27/12/2020 00:50

It was first detected in Wuhan. That's why the WHO are looking into it in Wuhan.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

TheoriginalLEM · 27/12/2020 01:31

This thread is very funny Grin

Tell you what though, if i were a bioterrorist and had released this virus with a view to causing maximum destruction, id be patting myself on the back right now.

But the reality is more likely to be governments throughout the world not paying attention when the scientists started looking nervous
