Advent Disappointment

Anyone else disappointed with their advent calendar? I had a Nespresso one and it was a real let down for the price, especially the 24th 'special' surprise.

This is the first time I've bought one for myself. Maybe my expectations were too high 😂

I was disappointed as DH didn't buy me a Hotel Chocolat advent calendar as anticipated. My Dairy Milk one is very samey Wink.

Yeah I had the Look Fantastic one and it was DIRE.

Almost all skincare, lots of duplicate products on different days, and things like a brown eyebrow pencil for blonde hair, and matt primer when I have dry skin! Can't believe how wrong they have gotten it.

This is so gross it made me cry with laughter! First time I've laughed since my mum died recently. Thank you 😂[/quote]
Sorry for your loss, Beautiful Thanks

I got a dairy milk tower one reduced to £5 from £8 such a disappointment. Nothing more then a glorified selection box !!!!

DD created a "dance class" advent this year; I think it went down well as everyone is used to zoom classes currently

She had a hot chocolate one which came in a fab box/drawers
DH and DD's boyfriend shared a tesco chilli choc one and both loved it - they do enjoy spicy stuff though...and I had a question/quiz to do each day which I enjoyed

I once hinted that I wanted a beauty advent calendar and DH bought me some awful non-branded one. I had a lot of clumpy mascaras and strawberry scented lipglosses that month. He did try though, so I feel guilty for being mean about it!

The best advent calendar for DCs was the Playdoh one. It came with glittery playdoh and you got a different tool or cutters every day. We still have most of it 5 years later.

My DD (10) spent her own money on a Build a Bear calendar this year - £40! I was a bit sceptical but it has been amazing. She has loved opening it every morning. I wouldn't spend that amount of money but it was fab.

My Bonne Maman special treat today was a lovely bauble.
