Anyway, @ClearingSpaceOnTheTrophyShelf. I only knew that uncool song. Looking at your recent posts it seems you are familiar with quite a few more than anyone else on the thread....

My only non-U.K. Christmas was spent in Thailand. They only really celebrated it for the benefit of the tourists but they went to a lot of effort. Loads do the big buildings in the city were decorated all over with lights that looked like ribbons and bows so the entire building would look like a wrapped present. Our hotel had a lovely, very slender, very female Father Christmas in full regalia who spent all Christmas Eve ringing a bell and wishing everyone Happy New Year. It was rather sweet.
