I poo daily but sometimes it's less soft than I would like (sorry if tmi).

What things do you do that you notice make a difference? I know the obvious fruit and vegetables, drink water etc but I'd like to hear what really makes the difference for you. Thanks!

Untreated coeliac disease. Me and my loo are besties at the moment until I get all tests done 😫. But seriously probably fruit and fibre rich cereal pre coeliac.

Apparently I used to "move" by stress. I'd get to work, go several times and then be fine for the day. Always struggled a little on days off but didn't really do anything about it. I've wfh since March and I really had to adjust to not relying on adrenalin. I eat a huge bowl of fruit most days, usually have a small handful of almonds and walnuts, and at least one meal has all the vegetables. If I get stuck then I turn to bran but both the bran and the fruit produce wind. That said, I'm going to miss my healthy eating when I return to the office!

dudsville · 09/12/2020 21:48

I think also popcorn is good for moving bowels. I recall a google search saying it was a source of fiber.

simonisnotme · 09/12/2020 22:25

large mug of strong tea first thing in a morning usually gets things moving for me

lljkk · 09/12/2020 22:28

5+ km runs, lots of fluids, high fibre, any amount of caffeine, other exercise.

@Dogsaresomucheasier

Sultana bran and a coffee for breakfast
Exactly this! But it’s the sultana bran that’s the hero in this case. I really notice the difference when we go on holiday and I have croissants or something else for breakfast
EnglishGirlApproximately · 09/12/2020 23:09

I have Bran Flakes with raspberries most mornings for a good fibre hot and really notice the difference if I have something else. Other than that, plenty of water, fruit and veg.

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 09/12/2020 23:12

That's a benefit of smoking I miss since giving up.

I like your style AgeLikeWine!! That would definitely clear out the pipes Grin

Another vote for strong coffee here.

Frannibananni · 09/12/2020 23:52

Water, cloudy pear juice and strong coffee.
Fibre supplements have the opposite effect on me.

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 09/12/2020 23:59

As soon as I wake up (within 10 mins of my eyes being open) I drink a litre of water straight. Give it then 30 mins n you'll be on the loo
