Stripper at a bachelorette party-yes or no?

Hey Ladies,

Just a light-hearted post. I've noticed that lots of women are against their partner having a stripper at his bachelorette party(visa-versa but I havent seen examples though) . I personally don't have a problem but I wonder if I am missing something?? Its even in TV shows where its a big no-no. DH was taken to a strip club where he had few drinks and then left to have dinner. His opinion of the whole thing is a shrug.

So what do you think?

No, maily because I would find it odd and off-putting that my partner wanted to go and stare at some other woman taking her clothes off for him, to turn him on.
Also because I don't think anyones body should be for sale.
The last hed do I went to, the woman had 3 including a naked butler and was just embarrassing and no one really knew what to do. I felt quite bad for the guys and they're not even in a vulnerable position like a woman taking her clothes of in amongst a group of men.

I went to a hen do about 25 years ago and there was a stripper. Imagine a small sitting room with about 7 or 8 people and this stripper starts doing his thing. I didn't want anyone to feel I was judging them for enjoying themselves but I've always thought it was an odd thing to want to do, to pay someone to dance suggestively. Luckily I smoked at the time so I went to fill my drink and then snuck out for a smoke.

@WankPuffins what omg!!

I thought no one was supposed to touch the stripper, wow it doesnt seem like that 😐

Sorry I sound a lot ignorant but this is all news to me.. ive never been to a hen do (or had one) just seen them in FRiends, Everybody loves Raymond and similar ones from the 90s and think its something brought on from that time rather than tradition.

Oh shit like that happens all the time. They get the girls from Adult work to come to a private party.

MsTSwift · 02/12/2020 17:16

Or private rooms in pubs. These were “nice” professional men too. Sorry quite cynical this stuff isn’t harmless

WankPuffins · 02/12/2020 17:33

@MsTSwift I am too. Sorry to generalise, but a lot of men are tossers. Don't care who they hurt as long as they have their fun.

And like a PP said they are like a different species sometime.

Could you imagine getting a group of female friends together and watching your best mate have a male stripper go down on her? I'm
Not naive. I know there are some videos on porn sites of such things taking place on hen dos. But I firmly believe they are made up for the male market mostly, and not genuine.

I use to work in male dominated environment when I was young, men with a lot of money and some of the things I saw in the name of "client entertainment" were shocking. It's like a group of little boys. Saddening.

WankPuffins · 02/12/2020 17:44

It's heartening to hear of the guys on this thread who have fucked off for a curry rather than see the strippers though. There are a lot of good men out there.

I have asked my Dh what he'd do now. He says he'd sit it out, go to another pub for a bit or come home. I believe him. He knows if I found out he'd been to a strip club, our marriage would be over. It's a dealbreaker for me.

june2007 · 02/12/2020 17:54

It,s a no from me.

sunshineinmyheart · 02/12/2020 18:06

My old manager told me in confidence that upper management when they gave these parties(only men ones) they hire escorts(or strippers i dont remember) at business parties! I thought she was joking.. i have honestly no idea if its true or shes just being a gossip

It's not about jealousy. It's about not wanting to marry somebody who's a tacky, sexist sleazebag.
