House warming present, what would you like to receive

Need to buy a gift for a friend who has just moved house but have no idea what. When I moved she got me a nice white company set.

What would you like to receive from a budget of £60 if you’d just moved house?

Ooh, nice soap would always go down well here as well.

Personalised wheelie bin stickers - to cover up the crap tippex numbers the previous owner had painted on their bins.

Molton brown hand soap and cream.
Any alcohol.
Personalised wall print.
Nice candle.

Bunch of flowers and a vase to put them in

If you have similar taste and know each other well, you have more options. If you often look at things she has and think to yourself, hmm, that's not for me, please don't buy her anything too much to your taste.

Great plant in a beautiful pot.

Cantbelievelife · 01/12/2020 00:24

We recently got all the mixers for a cocktail we love including glasses must have been at least £50 but great while In lockdown.

We have also got wax melts (in the 100s),wine glasses, gin glasses next vouchers and a few meal vouchers for restaurants doing take outs which have been lovely as we are skint! All gifts appreciated tbh

DramaAlpaca · 01/12/2020 00:26

I'd be delighted with a garden centre voucher.

We gave BIL & SIL a huge bag of daffodil bulbs about 25 years ago when they moved into their house. They have a long driveway and planted them all the way along. They come up every year and look amazing.

Don't get mugs or glasses, impersonal and she'll have a cupboard full.

My favourite housewarming gifts; a wine decanter, a set of steak knives, a cheese board with cheese knives.

Maybe something out if that topped up with a mini hamper of wine, cheese, bread & cured meats?

If the present is more unique you'll remember who bought you it. I am grateful for the mugs & glasses but I can't remember who bought them.

A nice personalised bauble is nice for tis time of year e.g. 'First Christmas in our New Home 2020' and their names maybe.

Vouchers for either John Lewis, Next, Dunelm or Argos.

PontiacBandit · 01/12/2020 01:57

B&Q voucher if she has decorating to do.

Charlotte2020 · 01/12/2020 09:48

Agree with PP, I was given b&q vouchers and it was the best gift- you forget how much you spend on painting when you move!
