I've been watching The Keepers on Netflix and it has brought up some uncomfortable memories of the deputy head in my secondary school 30 years ago. Strange situations, inappropriate comments, rumours of him having " relationships " with students.
Im still in contact with a couple of classmates who agreed.
I'm just wondering how common place this was ?
Funnily tho at the time we all laughed it off.

It wasnt just rumours. He tried to get me to go inside his house with him during school time when he had offered to drive me home because my grandma had been found dead. That was the memory that knocked me sick.

After I left high school one of the D&T teachers was sacked for having a relationship with an underage pupil. I can honestly say he was the last teacher you’d ever expect of it.

My school had 1 teacher that always got stick for being a creep.

A different married teacher was found having an affair with a pupil and when it was found out he took his life.

@HmmSureJan

That's what I was thinking as well, Thinkingg, a bit gleeful that the girl in question was 'in disgrace'

I really hope it was just clumsy wording; the disgrace was absolutely his, not hers. He was in a position of authority and she was a minor.

See my later posts and stop trying so hard to see the worst that you can and seize any opportunity to dish out a mini shaming. Nothing "gleeful" there at all. What a nasty way to think.

Why must my first post have taken into account what you said in later ones? Why post that she was 'in disgrace' at all? It was only when Thinkingg pointed it out that you posted subsequently about it.

I really don't have to try hard to see the worst having been at the raw end of it myself as a girl at school. Perhaps be more careful yourself with how and what you post.

We had a PSE teacher that was pally pally with all the boys and didn't really have anything to do with the girls. He was horrible to me, shouted at me and made me cry more than once for stupid shit like re-potting 3 of the wrong seedlings etc. He also showed us all an animal torture video, it was horrific. I'm still scarred by it 23 years later. Turns out he was a paedophile that horrendously abused a student of his over years and on his yearly class trips to Costa Rica for conservation, he was buying small boys to abuse over there as well.

This isn't mentioning the teacher that used to come into the girls changing room when we were getting changed every single time.

I'm sure they weren't the only two.
