We have a half Bengal. She loves DH more that i thought it was possible for anything to love anything. She is permanently attached to his side, and very vocal if not.

She likes to wee on things and sprays like a boy. Most recent victim was my wedding dress.

She is very sweet and funny though.

We got her from a rescue just because she had a lovely face, not because of her breed. There's so many (low maintenance) moggies that need a home.

I'd love a bengal but Missy wouldn't approve! She loves being the only cat of the household too much (and detests all other cats)

I'm so naive I can't believe cats can turn taps on and open doors mine can turn the air con on. As well as open doors obviously.

@YetAnotherSpartacus 😹😹😹 oh I laughed at that.

@JorisBonson ours was mine and had a good success rate at weeing on dhs things or dhs side of the bed, his pillow and my mils brand new coat. He really did not like mil because she tried to murder him with an artificial Christmas tree.

JorisBonson · 03/12/2020 11:56

@Fluffycloudland77 MIL's leather jacket got it recently!

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/12/2020 11:58

She’s brooking no competition is she?.

My pevious neighbours had one. I cannot describe how all 8 other houses in our cul-se-sac hated that
animal. It was so vocal, Morning, noon and night. It attacked other domestic pets if the opportunity, presented itself and kids, Two people were shift workers in the emergency services and were so fed up having it in the garden wailing and not being able to sleep. One day it just disappeared . The owners spent weeks putting up posters, knocking on doors and putting adverts in the paper. It never did return - ah Bliss

Oh god. I'm assuming that someone either knocked it on the head or sent it on a loooong one way trip in a big van Shock

They vocals on them are insane.

Ours came downstairs with me the other morning, still dark. Opened the blinds and she immediately started doing that MRRRROOOOOOWWWWWW noise at something out the window. Went on for ages, couldn't see another cat or a fox.

It was a poppy the neighbours little boy had drawn and put in the window Hmm

Autumnchill · 03/12/2020 19:21

I don't recognise ours at all in these descriptions! Yes he's broken things but it's mainly because he doesn't coordinate his arse end with his head end, but no issues with litter tray, crying etc.

Came down earlier today and found him and my 14 yr old moggy curled up together, they get on so well.

Having said that they do need more activity and play time than my other cat

Our neighbour had one. Gorgeous cat but it used to batter its way through our magnetic cat flat, on a daily basis.

mrscatmad31 · 03/12/2020 19:48

I absolutely adore cats and own a breed that is quite high maintenance, however I would never have a Bengal. I have worked with cats for years and in my own experience they go missing, they fight, they have behavioural problems... Obviously there are exceptions but I would never recommend getting one, especially as a novice owner
