I really fancy a chocolate orange flavour hot chocolate. I have an orange Aero bar in the fridge, it should work, right? If I melt it in a pan of milk and whisk it all up?

@Shitfuckoh

I'm just here so I can check back for the results!

Do you put marshmallows in, squirty cream and then chocolate sprinkles on top too OP? I've been known to crush a flake to put on top too

Absolutely! I do a layer of marshmallows, then squirty cream and then squidge more marshmallows into the cream. Because I'm going to use Aero this time, I think I'll sprinkle that on top of the cream too.

@MrsMouse03 I don't have a local Sainsbo's Sad I don't think I've ever actually been in one!

I tried this once with a mint areo and it was horrible. Too much oil probably palm which split from the milk and made a slick on top.

chunkyrun · 20/11/2020 20:57

How did you make it?

TimeToCloseTheDoor · 20/11/2020 21:23

Ahem, where is the update op?

SomethingOnce · 20/11/2020 23:54

Crucial to put marshmallows first to act as an insulating island for the cream, unless one has a gas-powered cream dispenser that does the job properly.

Hoping for that update to appear while I’m writing this, OP Hmm

Sorry guys, DH shared his Angel Delight with DS and then he decided to vomit it back up everywhere just after DH headed off to work, so I've been dealing with all the washing. And the Angel Delight was chocolate flavour so as you might imagine, making a hot chocolate was the last thing I fancied doing 😬 Postponed until tomorrow/today (Saturday!) evening.

Make it nowOP!

wowfudge · 21/11/2020 10:35

I'd give it a go with one of the big Terry's Chocolate Orange bars.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 21/11/2020 10:38

You're just taunting us now OP. You started it, you need to finish it! Grin

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 21/11/2020 19:08

Right. I'm here! DH picked me up a couple of Lindt Orange bars earlier so now I'm not sure if I should do it with that instead or go ahead as planned with the Aero...

MrsJunglelow · 21/11/2020 19:09

Do both!

SomethingOnce · 21/11/2020 19:13

One of each. Proper science thing.

nancybotwinbloom · 21/11/2020 19:13

Well do both obviously in the name of science!

nancybotwinbloom · 21/11/2020 19:14

So would I
SomethingOnce · 21/11/2020 19:15

And since you’ve made us wait nearly 24 hours, it would be only right to add pictures. Thank you.

Waitingtomove · 21/11/2020 19:18

I’ve made one with a little Cadbury’s chocolate orange snowman. It was delicious.
Add it in small chunks and stir well after adding each chunk, then add cream marshmallows. Enjoy!

Wasn't there a brand of Hot Choc with something like 40 calories per mug (you made it with water) back in the 90s? You could buy them in 2 sachets or a box of 20? Options or something like that?
They did a Banana flavour which when made with hot milk was A.MAY.ZING

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 21/11/2020 19:30

Yes! I loved Options! You can still get them I think. Not sure what flavours they do now but I remember they used to do all sorts of wacky flavours that were all delicious! My mum used to buy loads of them with the weekly shop Grin

Honestly? I'm not sure if an Aero would work for me.

An orange Twirl on the other hand...❤️❤️❤️❤️

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 21/11/2020 19:36

Looks a bit... pukey. Smells amazing though!

I started using a Flake to make hot chocolate a few weeks ago and haven't looked back. It obviously crumbles the easiest but I'm sure you could try others. The only drawback is the washing up!

pussycatinboots · 21/11/2020 19:42

I wonder if it would be better with a few segments of a dark Terrys Choc Orange?
But yes, that looks rather unfortunate.
