What the hell do I do with all this cake!

So, I ordered a cake for my DS's birthday and my god it's huge. They told me it fed 18. There's four of us in the house and I knew I could palm off some to at least 8 school friends..as a family we had some yesterday and then I've cut another 12 slices for today to hand out to friends and have ourselves... there's still half of the bastarding thing left.

Now don't get me wrong, I like a challenge but I can't face the idea of eating cake every day for a week and would never allow the kids to have birthday cake 7 days in a row.

What can I do? It's going to have to go in the bin isn't it? Could I potentially post some to family who are too far away to visit? Seems such a waste!

That’s the size of slice I’d give to an under-6, as OP says her kids are. Birthday cake is sickly and even adults never want big pieces IME - we usually end up with it sitting around for ages too!

I agree that bigger slices are called for. And eating cake until it's used up isn't so bad. If you really run out of options though there must be a homeless/half term hampers/waste reduction project that will take it rather than bin it while people are going hungry.
