Could this be early labour?

Does this sound like it could be early labour?

I'm 40+5 with first baby and have been having Braxton Hicks and period pain like cramps for weeks. Late last night these were getting stronger and from around 3am I've been waking up every 20 minutes or so with sharp pains around my hips and lower back that last about 20-40 seconds. They feel a bit like I'm being squeezed really tightly and are painful enough to seriously hurt but manageable with a hot water bottle, hypno breathing and some paras so far.

Could this be it? Pains are getting stronger.

Another one for Rory - he's beautiful!

AriesTheRam · 17/10/2020 16:18

Looks like a Ralph to me

CormoranStrike · 17/10/2020 16:21

He is lovely!

I think he is a Toby, Ben or Finlay.

Here's another because he's just so gorgeous. I had to go to theatre to have my placenta removed manually so since then we've snuggled on the ward. Home tomorrow fortunately.

I think he looks a bit like a George. We're going to weigh up a few options before deciding.

Could this be early labour?

I like Henry and Rory too! Love Toby but it's a long term ex so had to rule out.

Very kind of you guys to say. I've now showered and feel much better. George Henry Rory Wilbur is just gorgeous.

Congratulations OP! Sending lots of love and good health your way x

roarfeckingroarr · 17/10/2020 19:52

Thank you 😊. To be honest I just look massively relieved that it was over.

Struggling to get him to eat, he's so chilled and sleepy. Tried skin to skin, waking him up, tickling feet etc and the midwives are divided on whether it's a problem or he's just really chilled out and had a big day being born so needs the rest more than more food.

Ah op just caught up! What a beautiful, beautiful boy you made Flowers

Glad you’re feeling okish after your day, blimey!

Dd was suuuuper sleepy on the first day and barely bf at all. Remember that colostrum is incredibly rich and his stomach is only the size of a marble atm, so even tiny feeds will be ok. He should perk up a bit tomorrow.

Congratulations!!!!

DramaAlpaca · 17/10/2020 21:50

Many congratulations @roarfeckingroarr. What an adorable baby boy Flowers
