Anyone up to much? DH & I have just had one of the rabbits in. So cute when they’re after treats! Our neighbours post bags of peelings etc through the fence so the bunnies do very well. I worked today & it was really busy but good as I had mainly lovely customers. One lady was buying Christmas stuff & bless her, she was like a kid in a sweetshop! So heartwarming. I had a lovely chat with her & her other half. When they left she said it was great to be served by a lovely lady. I do enjoy being on the tills. All of life is there for sure. Having chippy tea later ( didn’t finish lunch til nearly 4 so we’ll hang on a bit) & torn between fish & battered jumbo sausage. Then settling down to watch the BGT Final.

Eldest upstairs on her phone to friends, youngest is asleep, DH in the garden and I’m moping about with a head ache. I should have done lots of work today but didn’t so I’m dreading tomorrow as I’ll be playing catch up....pray for me please.

@H1978 thanks for telling me more, it sounds great! Not sure if this one is as big as yours, but it sounds quite similar.
It divides in two, but there aren’t any windows.
We’re thinking to maybe put in a part transparent ceiling of reinforced glass, so one room gets some light, and could maybe be used as a snug/guest room, and the other as a bathroom and storage.

Eating cheese and watching Below Deck Sailing Yacht. DH on his phone. Both kids and 5 pets asleep. We should be too.

Frownette · 11/10/2020 03:07

I keep falling asleep early then waking up early. So I'll just read the news and mumsnet.

My bedroom needs a quick tidy but that'll only take 5 minutes.

akerman · 11/10/2020 03:21

We are all grieving because we had to have our sweet dog put down yesterday. I’m filling the void with food.

Frownette · 11/10/2020 03:28

@akerman aww, it's so sad when they go.

Just think they are at peace now and nothing can ever harm them, and remember the lovely companionship.

akerman · 11/10/2020 03:37

Thank you frownette, I’ll try. Just miss her so much. But we were very lucky to have her for 12 years. She was gorgeous.

@SenecaFallsRedux

I am so sorry. It's heartbreaking to lose a pet. Take care of yourself.

akerman · 11/10/2020 04:19

Thank you greyblueeyes

Frownette · 11/10/2020 04:23

It's funny about pets actually because you get to know them so well and their little ways and it's a very tactile experience, but they're there for 1/4 or 1/5 of your lifetime in the general course of things.

Always in your heart though.

Angliski · 11/10/2020 04:34

@akerman sending love. Had my darling cat put down in lockdown. Yesterday doing yoga, I found a hair of his on my leggings somehow. Made me realise he is always woth me and cry a bit.

I’m answering my ama thread, thinking about a friend who is about to start a fertility journey and how I can best support her having been there and done that. Baby and dh are in bed together - we are co sleeping as he is teething and nods much faster if he is with us.

Angliski · 11/10/2020 04:35

Oh, also we aren’t at home, we are in Prague! Which is unbelievably and slightly magically quiet due to lockdown restrictions.

Frownette · 11/10/2020 04:39

@Angliski oh I felt like that during strict lockdown!

I got stuck elsewhere, there was something magical about having this beautiful place nearly all to yourself. Enjoy :)

ssd · 11/10/2020 04:42

I can't sleep. Dh is recovering from covid. I keep imagining how it would have gone if he'd got worse. It was scary. I'm now terrified to get it. I work in retail and I don't want to go back. No one really SD anymore.

Frownette · 11/10/2020 04:45

@ssd calm down, it doesn't necessarily mean the end of the world.

Most people who get it don't have complications. As long as you're following guidelines you should be fine.

Sounds brilliant, you’ll definitely appreciate the space once it’s done up. Another idea that a close friend had done was to create a staircase down into the basement from the ground floor living area. This can create a lot of light too and makes it seem less like a basement.

Mindymomo · 11/10/2020 08:07

@akerman So sorry for your loss. We’ve only had our dog for 2.5 years, but time goes way too quickly.

Viv0321 · 11/10/2020 13:31

Not much today

spiderlight · 11/10/2020 18:01

So sorry, @akerman. It's awful, isn't it? No pain quite like it. Flowers

akerman · 11/10/2020 19:32

Thank you all and solidarity with those of you who’ve also lost a beloved pet Flowers
