Am I the only one with magpie tendencies when wearing my dressing gown, I just went to wash mine and cannot believe the junk I’ve e picked up and put in there

Mine is fullof kit Kat wrappers. Sorry, not sorry.

FindMeInTheSunshine · 10/10/2020 10:36

Not at all. If I can't find something small my dressing gown pocket is the place to check! Don't tell the fashion industry otherwise they'll start adding pockets until it looks like a safari jacket, then I'll never find anything again.

FallonsTeaRoom · 10/10/2020 10:40

Mine has a random assortment of things that I've popped in them while doing bits and bobs in the morning ”oh that doesn't live there, I'll move that” so is a child's treasure trove of elastic bands, pen tops, screw-top lids, used envelopes, lip salve, nail file, hair bobbles etc...

I’m a house keeper in a huge house. My apron is my dressing gown pocket. I get home and sort through what is in there Grin

60sbird · 10/10/2020 11:03

Mines got, quality street wrappers, hair band, a wrist sweat band, twist tie and coins

I wear a day robe (dressing gown) every day so have a few.
The pockets on each one are bulging with shite and reams of mucky kitchen roll.
They're shameful Blush

Mumof3almost4 · 10/10/2020 11:11

I have a bad habit of biting my false nails off when I'm due a new set and put them in my dressing gown pocket. I know I am disgusting GrinBlush

FallonsTeaRoom · 10/10/2020 11:12

Oh and the coins! Where do they come from? We haven't been to a shop in months. We only used cards to pay in shops and bars anyway, no one has been in the house since February yet I keep finding a 10p or 20p coin in odd places around the house. I move them to the desk drawer yet I will then find another one later! 👀

TheQueef · 10/10/2020 11:37

Two old style pound coins doing the rounds since 2018 and odd socks.
I seem to hide odd socks in my pockets with odd used screws.
We have many other socks and screws but I save the outliers in my pocket.

ReeseWitherfork · 10/10/2020 11:39

I’m quality street wrapper free at the moment but over the festive period it’s quite impressive.

It’s when I find things like a spoon in there that amazes me.

Itstheprinciple · 10/10/2020 11:53

I love this thread! I have found my people! Hair bobbles, tweezers and yes, yes, yes to the quality street wrappers over Christmas!

TheQueef · 10/10/2020 11:55

Always tweezers.
ALWAYS.
Got a tweezerman slant in every robe, I like to pick.

FairFriday · 10/10/2020 11:56

I thought it was just me - chocolate biscuit wrappers, labels off packages, dust bunnies, random bits of thread locked up off the floor... and (has a ferret) a pair of knickers....(I have just got out the shower).

exexpat · 10/10/2020 11:59

I was once given a dressing gown with no pockets. Totally useless, had to go. Where are you meant to put the phone, tissues, hair clips and so on? The pocketless one was from M&S - they should really know better. I have a fluffy Asda one now with useful-sized pockets.

60sbird · 10/10/2020 16:11

I very stupidly picked up a couple of tubs the other week in case we get trick or treaters knocking and have almost finished a tub, my partner doesn’t know I’ve opened them so I’ve hidden them so he does eat any

😂😂😂 you are all disgusting! 😁

I don’t keep anything in my dressing gown pockets. It would spoil the line.

StanfordPines · 10/10/2020 16:19

Not my dressing gown pocket but playground duty coat. (I keep a coat at school for all eventualities).
Every time I put it on I find random bits of tat in the pockets that are presented to me by children. Small dinosaurs, hair clips, hair ties, coins, random plastic toys, buttons, counters...

bigpurplefuryknickers · 10/10/2020 22:15

Tweezers, hand cream, hair band, empty Maltesers share bag (didn't even offer them one) & a stegosaurus!

stardance · 10/10/2020 22:16

Me too. Currently I have a newspaper cutting, DS's phone, a nit comb, two hair ties.

Thelnebriati · 10/10/2020 22:30

Apparently I carry tissues, biscuits and crisps in mine, going by the fluff & crumbs.

Oh yes! My school coat always has an assortment of crap in the pocket!
DazzlingDee · 11/10/2020 20:30

I found my lost debit card in mine this morning!

FairFriday · 11/10/2020 21:17

Why do so many people have tweezers? What are you all doing with them?

ReeseWitherfork · 11/10/2020 21:19

Got to have them to hand for when I notice that evil solo chin hair come back again.

Redcrayons · 11/10/2020 21:24

Always tissues.
Hair things.

The spare key that I told ds off for losing, good job I found it before I followed through on my threat to make him pay to get the locks changed.

A peg which I found still attached to some washing and is on its way to the peg box in the garden
