Flying back to see my chap who is thousands of miles away from me. No idea when this will be, but it will happen eventually.

Thecrisplover · 09/10/2020 06:43

My DDs birthday next week and giving her some presents. We're going out for pizza together, not eaten out this year!0
We have decided to have extra Christmases this autumn; a huge roast and a few crackers, invite our pals over. Get some sparkly lights up.
Looking forward to that!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 09/10/2020 07:02

SushiGo · 09/10/2020 07:11

Looking forward to doing tie dye with the kids this weekend and another stomp around the woods.

Lindy2 · 09/10/2020 07:26

Well I was looking forward to our holiday booked for half term but that's now more of a worry than something I'm looking forward to.

However, I'm going to plant some hyacinths today so they'll be ready as gifts for Christmas. Planting flowers makes me happy.

thisusernameismine · 09/10/2020 07:29

Moving house!! Slightly delayed as we all got covid from me babysitting an infected friend's newborn last week Confused (mild cases all round so I'm not derailing the positivity of the thread!) cannot wait for country life to begin x

thisusernameismine · 09/10/2020 07:30

(No I didn't know she was infected)

Im looking forward to finishing re-doing our bedroom the weekend. 2 bedside tables to build and a load of old bits of drawers and shelves to take to the dump. Then hopefully I ll actually enjoy being in my bedroom unlike for the last 2 years since we moved!

Echobelly · 09/10/2020 09:59

Taking Monday off work and going to see an exhibition with my husband for his birthday while kids are at school and just having the time together. Seeing as no rumblings of doomsday announcements yet, seems like things will still be open on Monday.

Going to stay in my parents' house in my mum's home country next summer - come what may, we should be able to do that and it's a country that's managed C19 well, so we might take a long break there (3-4 weeks)

Wheelyyyy · 09/10/2020 10:13

So many things! While I’m pretty good at throwing myself a pity party on a regular basis I do know how to be optimistic too.

I’m looking forward to a family dinner out for my husband’s birthday on Sunday.

He’s halfway through redoing both of our bathrooms and I can’t wait for them to be finished, they’re starting to look so good.

I’m looking forward to the arrival of new slippers and PJs.

Halloween is coming up and I love to decorate the house and make all the pumpkin recipes and other autumn food, then the same again at Christmas.

Longer term I’m looking forward to my toddler becoming more independent and making my life easier as she gets older, to the completion of some projects on our house which have dragged on and to having both a family holiday and a romantic weekend away for the two of us when it becomes possible to do so.

AriesTheRam · 09/10/2020 10:34

I am looking forward to DD popping back from uni this weekend and telling me all about it . Then going out for Sunday lunch at a local country pub on Sunday with the whole family
I am also planning my Christmas present so have been spending many hours watching you tube videos (I am after a sports watch if anyone has any opinions let me know) . I am hoping there may be some reductions Black Friday so I want to make sure I know exactly what I want and the rough price so I can pounce if there are any good deals

Wheelyyyy · 09/10/2020 11:06

I'm looking forward to decorating the house for Halloween 🎃

Taking my new baby to a massage class.

Christmas 🎄

Oh, and my caesarean wound finally healing!

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 09/10/2020 16:20

@Xiaoxiong, I’m stealing the Martinmas idea! I think we will have roast beef though! I’ve booked the day off work, I think my partner will think I’m slightly mad, but he’s keen on the Romans so will be interested. I’ve booked Advent Sunday off too and will make my Christmas cake then.
What about 6th December, St Nicholas’s day? Wrapped chocolates in shoes? Also, there’s a lovely storybook called The Thirteen Days of Christmas by Jenny Overton which features the way the twelve days were celebrated.
