I've scheduled in some home celebrations for the kids in a cringe "making memories" kind of way, aiming for around one every few weeks so we are always looking forward to stuff - so far I've got planned a campfire with s'mores around the fire pit in the back garden, making caramel apples, carving pumpkins for Halloween, sparklers and fireworks in our neighbours' garden for guy fawkes and eating some kind of autumnal stew outside, having a Martinmas feast with goose and lighting lanterns, thanksgiving, then advent sunday and the run up to Christmas.

It's going to be harder after new year so I need to get my thinking cap on for some more things to do in Jan/Feb. Epiphany, Candlemas...hmm.

Tumbleweed101 · 08/10/2020 07:00

I have been looking forward to a week away with my best friend who I haven’t seen this year but now it’s all looking a bit unlikely with the growing threat of new restrictions 😬.

Libertyfree · 08/10/2020 22:16

Lovely. Keep them coming.
Realising at this uncertain time that it’s all the little things that make life bearable.

This year to end. Wishing the days away at the moment.

SallyTimms · 08/10/2020 22:20

A new mattress I have just ordered tonight. Ours is pre-dc so long overdue a replacement. DH thinks we will need to annilihate the current mattress or paint it before it can be collected

I am going to invest in a mattress topper and new pillows. Can't extend to new bedding too but am really looking forward to a nice bed!

DressingGownofDoom · 08/10/2020 22:21

My 3 year old is isolating this week and next and I've been working from home this week. It's been tough telling him mummy can't play and we can't go anywhere but 5pm tomorrow work finishes and I've booked leave for next week so I'm all his. Even if we can't go out at least we can have fun together when the laptop has been put away for a while Smile

DressingGownofDoom · 08/10/2020 22:22

Seeing my babies faces in the morning... why do I miss them when they go to sleep even tho they drive me barmy all day and I can't get them in bed quick enough! 😂

NeedWineNow · 08/10/2020 22:45

@BitOfFun sending you Flowers and hope that all goes well

I'm looking forward to DH's birthday in November - we're going to the Ivy in London and staying up for a couple of nights. Christmas, however it turns out, getting did of this crappy year and hoping all is better next year. And our holiday in Greece next year.

BitOfFun · 09/10/2020 00:42

Thanks for the good wishes! @SallyTimms, I'm excited for you about the new bed stuff- it sounds really lovely.

Audreyseyebrows · 09/10/2020 00:46

@BitOfFun good luck to you.

I’m looking forward to a week off of work (First time since February!).
Christmas although I’m working throughout.
New pjs and knickers which should be arriving soon.

Anordinarymum · 09/10/2020 00:49

@LesLavandes

I am looking forward to taking myself away for a few days to a hotel with spa. I have been having a dreadful time and need a little break.

Has anyone got any ideas where? I will be alone. I want total comfort and in South East would be good. Thank you

I think you are really brave to go alone. The ads for Warner Leisure Hotels on the TV look good
rainbowninja · 09/10/2020 00:53

Looking forward to roast dinner on Sunday Smile

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/10/2020 00:56

I'm a Celebrity, because AJ Pritchard is going to be in it.
Strictl Come Dancing, because I love to watch it on Saturday night's.
Hopefully visiting my daughter soon, she's worried about Covid, but I'm missing her and haven't seen her since August.
Spending more time with my friend as she's taken redundancy from Costa.

Rubybluesy · 09/10/2020 00:59

Five children at 30?!

KoalaRabbit · 09/10/2020 05:06

Holidays though don't know when our planned one this year in Borneo / Thailand will be viable, maybe 2022? Before that it'll probably be Devon again but had such a great time there this year looking forward to that too.

A simple Christmas at home, just ordered the food, will just be us, the kids and the pets but like it like that.

Watching rest of Below Deck.

Hopefully when our house sells and hopefully DD getting her GCSEs in 2020 though before then is scary re schools. But she's great at independent learning and I enjoy helping so we will get there one way or another.

Seeing our pets each day and being together as a family.

KoalaRabbit · 09/10/2020 05:10

Good luck Bit for the cancer treatment and to all those awaiting babies.

weepingwillow22 · 09/10/2020 05:16

My new kitchen worktops coming today. We have been without a kitchen for 3.5 months and living on a building site since February.
