Apologies for not having got back to you earlier, @PatricksRum, we've got a few threads that are needing some quite intense moderating at the moment. Just to say yes it's absolutely something we're looking at doing in response to this thread and other discussions. We're responding to several reports re this thread, certainly, but would also welcome thoughts from MNers as to how a new board should be shaped. Thanks!

Evening, everyone. We've had to do quite a bit of moderating on this thread today and have removed several posts that were racist or broke talk guidelines in other ways.
At the suggestion of a Mumsnetter who dropped us a line earlier, we're going to close this thread overnight just to make sure it doesn't get deluged by any trolls or other nastiness that we wouldn't want hanging around in the wee small hours when we don't have so many moderators about.
Sorry to cut you all off mid flow (especially to you PatricksRum) but if we could all make it Ovaltine o'clock now we promise we'll reopen this first thing in the morning and we look forward to hearing more of your thoughts about how a board like this might take shape.

Evening, everyone. We've had to delete a lot of posts on both this and the Site Stuff thread tonight so we're going to close them both just for a few hours overnight to avoid any trolls or troublemakers having a field day while there are fewer mods about.
