I live on a quiet street, neighbours are quite nosey though and there’s a lot of watching what others are doing and keeping up with the Jones’. I was thinking that living on a main rd might be a bit more anonymous, just passing pleasantries with neighbours.

Quiet for traffic (cul de sac), busy for pedestrians (has a footpath through which is a shortcut into town from a large estate). Nice neighbours and there's nearly always someone to pass the time of day with when I'm out the front.

mendandmakedo · 23/08/2020 22:32

Main road but single carriage.

HairyToity · 23/08/2020 22:35

Quiet road. A country lane. It still has some passing traffic though. My parents are at the end of a lane, and then a long drive to get to their house. You cannot even hear traffic, nevermind see it. Their nearest main road (as in two way traffic B road and not just country lane) is about 4 miles away.

motherofdxughters · 23/08/2020 22:35

I live in a cul de sac so quiet apart from neighbours cars.

Frownette · 23/08/2020 22:37

It's quiet

Jayfee · 23/08/2020 22:38

Main road..and I love it as I see people all the time

LadyCatStark · 23/08/2020 22:43

Quiet, rural cul de sac.

wouldntmindbeingmrsw · 23/08/2020 22:44

We also live in a quiet cul de sac. First house in, so everyone that lives there, plus the postman and delivery men have to pass our house. Next door are the same age as us and so is a chap over the road. The rest are in their 70s and over. One neighbour is really nosey. Always out the front watching and gathering gossips where he can. I have great pleasure in telling him nothing about myself or anyone else in the road🤣. He's lost interest in me now 🤷‍♀️.

PickAChew · 23/08/2020 22:48

A busy but not fast main road. It's quiet most of the time in the evenings, though.

Greenteandchives · 23/08/2020 22:50

As wouldntmind we are also the first house in a small cul de sac. It’s very quiet and since lockdown we have all got to know each other much better and it’s been really lovely to live here.
10 minutes from the city centre though.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 23/08/2020 22:50

A cul de sac within a cul de sac on the edge of town with no through route for pedestrians. It's incredibly quiet

lljkk · 23/08/2020 22:54

country lane

JanewaysBun · 23/08/2020 22:54

Very busy London road. I'm nosey so always curtain twitching haha

LemonyFace · 23/08/2020 22:56

Main road through an estate. Busy enough but not too noisy.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 23/08/2020 22:57

Main road - flat above a row of shops. Retail park directly opposite, including Matalan and Starbucks. Everything I need right on my doorstep. Love it.

MrsBungle · 23/08/2020 22:58

Both! Front is a very quiet and lovely cul de sac. Bottom of the 200ft garden is a 40mph A road.

Ginfordinner · 23/08/2020 22:58

Another cul de sac off a cul de sac in a village. We are so tucked away that the trick or treaters don't know we are here. We have lovely neighbours as well.

hoikedjudgeypants · 23/08/2020 22:58

In a wierd culdesac thing but just off a crossroads, one pair of roads is a red route and the other a blues and twos route in south London so not at all quiet but a good location for trains and relatively "cheap" for the house size.

LeGrandBleu · 23/08/2020 22:59

In the bush. My neighbours are snakes and wallabies, a type of small kangaroo . Can't go anywhere without a car.

ImFree2doasiwant · 23/08/2020 22:59

Quiet country road, very narrow with passing places. Not many cars come past but the ones that do go too fast.

TheCanyon · 23/08/2020 22:59

Quiet road in terms of traffic, but our street is a main path to several hill walking routes so busy enough footfall

Clearthinking · 23/08/2020 23:09

Quiet road that loops back on itself sort of one way system, you only come around if you live here and so only the residents to talk to

confusedofengland · 23/08/2020 23:13

Quiet for traffic during school holidays but in term time lots of people park here as we are 5 minutes walk from schools. Quite a few people walking past every day as we are near local shops.

Lisette1940 · 23/08/2020 23:13

Cul de sac next to woodland and moor. Very quiet.
