I live on a cul De sac so very quiet

Main road with a train line behind it so v noisy.
I'm used to it and it doesn't bother me at all.

DramaAlpaca · 23/08/2020 23:17

Very quiet and fairly rural. It's great.

Inching · 23/08/2020 23:21

Very rural, and Storm Ellen washed the road surface away so I don’t think there’s been more than a handful of cars all week. But where we moved here from was considerably more remote, so this trickle feels like Piccadilly Circus.

yolio · 23/08/2020 23:29

I am also in a cul de sac, great, but to this day have never heard what a cul de sac is in the English language. HELP. LOL.

MrsAvocet · 23/08/2020 23:33

A very quiet country lane now but I've lived in loads of different places from beside an urban dual carriageway to a high rise flat and a new and unfinished estate. Where we are now is my favourite but the've all been ok and had pros and cons.

Thighdentitycrisis · 23/08/2020 23:36

@yolio
Do you mean the English term for cul de sac? I would say colloquial term is ‘dead end’ although I believe cul de sac is the correct term as it is written on road signs.

I live on a medium busy road in London. Not much traffic at night and dead quiet at the back

MuseumOfYou · 23/08/2020 23:37

Off a very quiet country lane, down a long drive. Nearest neighbour in any direction half a mile, 5 miles to an A road. But a pub and a farm shop within a 10 min walk. Not all bad. Zero light pollution and zero noise, apart from cows, occasional farm machinery and sometimes helicopters.

latticechaos · 23/08/2020 23:39

Quiet and luckily not nosey either Smile

Gilead · 24/08/2020 02:27

Corner of a cul de sac off a cul de sac. Rural and quiet. People have trouble finding the place. Love it.

RunningHoops · 24/08/2020 02:47

How can you have a cul de sac off a cul de sac? Surely it's just a Cul de sac.

Ilovesausages · 24/08/2020 02:59

Main road. Pretty busy but I don’t mind. It’s actually not noisy at all.

Tillygetsit · 24/08/2020 04:44

Very quiet. Apart from the night when ternagers ran up our cul de sac and stopped outside our house to have a fight. One of them got stabbed Shock

HerRoyalNotness · 24/08/2020 05:21

In a cul de sac. It’s a fairly quiet neighbourhood anyway. And a bit nosey. Next door had a post last night from the street behind us, “did anyone hear a racing car and gunshots just now?” Just call the cops lady.

Kote · 24/08/2020 05:37

Cul de sac here too. It's quiet at the front, rarely see any of our neighbours. Behind our back garden wall there is a really busy road (traffic-wise) so we do get the noise from that. It doesn't bother me though.

EasilyDelighted · 24/08/2020 06:31

There are two cul-de-sacs off our cul-de-sac. They all have different names and their own sets of house numbers.

RowboatsinDisguise · 24/08/2020 07:04

Country lane. It’s occasionally used as a cut through but the road surface is really awful so people tend to avoid it. We get a lot of farm machinery during harvest and other peak times though. And the odd horse box as there is a stables 200m in either direction from our house.

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 24/08/2020 07:06

Quiet road at the back of a council estate. My garden backs onto open fields and woods but I’m 1min in the car to the main ring road for the city.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/08/2020 07:25

My actual street is fairly quiet, no reason to go down it if you don't live on it. It's a short street. We're very near a B road though.

Dogsgowoofwoof · 24/08/2020 07:27

Very end of a small cul de sac so lovely and quiet.

SurreyHillsGirl · 24/08/2020 09:17

Live on a lane with no access to other roads, off a quiet country road. Only four other houses, rural, surrounded by woods and forest, garden backs onto horses field. No traffic noise, just chickens and the clip clop of horses hooves every now and then. Hard to find though. 10 mins to the nearest pub / farm shop and the town is a 20 min drive away. I have lived in central London on a v busy and well known touristy road so this level of peace and tranquillity feels wonderful.

PaperMonster · 24/08/2020 10:00

I live on a quiet cul de sac. But it’s off a main busy road. Sitting in the garden of a weekend can be bloody noisy thanks to the bikers.

Bluesheep8 · 24/08/2020 10:12

Quiet. Silent infact. It's unadopted.
