Just that really. Debating whether to go picking today but it's a bit of a trek and don't want to be disappointed.

Thanking yows

Yes, definitely, actually they're largely nearly over. It's been a hot summer, so I think everything has ripened early.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 11/08/2020 11:43

Yes, have been for about a week now so starting to go past their best in some places.

Theimpossiblegirl · 11/08/2020 11:45

I'm in the South West, they've started but there will be lots more in a week or so. My mum is in Wales and has picked loads already.
Sloes seem early this year too, there are loads.

Cupoftchaiagain · 11/08/2020 11:47

Where in country are u?
Central belt Scotland just starting to ripen might try at the weekend.

480Widdio · 11/08/2020 11:51

Yes in the Midlands.

VioletCharlotte · 11/08/2020 11:52

Yes, they've been ripe for a couple of weeks where I am in the south east. I've been picking them and making crumbles and freezing some as well.

Bat3 · 11/08/2020 11:56

Yes, we’ve been picking them over the last couple of weeks in Yorkshire. Earlier than usual.

gingerscot · 11/08/2020 11:58

Not yet in east Scotland. Nearly but not quite.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 11/08/2020 12:00

not yet, Highlands of Scotland.

Ifailed · 11/08/2020 12:02

They are pretty well done near me, in Kent.

Springersrock · 11/08/2020 12:07

Pretty much done here on the south coast

TwoBlueFish · 11/08/2020 12:09

North west here, we picked a load earlier this week and there were a lot not ripe yet.

Angel2702 · 11/08/2020 12:11

We picked our last week as I always leave it too late.

Mogtheforgetfulmum · 11/08/2020 12:14

cheeseismydownfall · 11/08/2020 12:18

Interesting! East Midlands here and only the first few are ripe - I would say we are a week away at least from picking them.

LyraLilly · 11/08/2020 12:18

East Midlands - took our first crop from the garden last weekend. Mmmm crumble.

vampirethriller · 11/08/2020 12:21

Yep, I've picked loads. Got jam made, pies, and frozen some.

vampirethriller · 11/08/2020 12:21

I'm in Yorkshire

EatsShootsAndRuns · 11/08/2020 12:22

East midlands - they're ready on one side of the garden yet still green on the other side. What I want is the big ones behind and in the apple trees but I can't get to them because of the branches!

Witchend · 11/08/2020 12:23

Yes. They look lovely.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 11/08/2020 12:29

We’ve been picking for about a month in London. We’re on our second lot of compote.

2tired2bewitty · 11/08/2020 12:30

North East, yes on the sunny side of the garden not yet on the shadier side.

Megan2018 · 11/08/2020 12:32

Not quite in our garden, there are a few but still lots to come. The hens have had the ones they can reach though already-greedy buggers

Kaiserin · 11/08/2020 12:32

Definitely in the south east. I picked a few last week.
