I saw a mouse! (Where?) There on the stair! (Where on the stair?) Right there! A little mouse with clogs on Well I declare! Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair Oh yeah! 1965 (but thought it was 70s)
A Windmill in old Amsterdam. Can't remember who sang it I was a bit young but mum and I used to song along on the radio.🤣

@VictoriousSockPuppet

For coffee

And she's always gone too long
Any time she goes away

70s

You gotta have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna have a dream come true?

An old song that was an unexpected no 1 in the 80s

If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to.me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine

60s

Finally one I know but I shall leave it as it is intended for @CoffeeBeansGalore.

My mum was a primary school teacher growing up, she had a book of songs considered suitable for young children to sing to which she used to play on the piano

Windmill in Amsterdam was one of them

Here's another

Old Ebenezer thought he was Julius Caesar
So they put him in a home
Where they gave him medicinal compound
Now he's emperor of Rome

1970s

shinynewapple2020 · 09/08/2020 23:21

1968 apparently

CoffeeBeansGalore · 09/08/2020 23:24

Next verse of my outstanding one.

Well you're a real tough cookie with a long history
Of breaking little hearts like the one in me
That's okay, let's see how you do it
Put up you dukes, let's get down to it
Chorus
You come on with it, come on
You don't fight fair
That's okay, see if I care
Knock me down, it's all in vain
I get right back on my feet again

OP posts:
Honeyroar · 09/08/2020 23:34

Correct @Willow2017

xsquared · 09/08/2020 23:39

@Imissmoominmama Both correct, but they were set by @VictoriousSockPuppet not me.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 09/08/2020 23:42

You can tell the world you never was my girl
You can burn my clothes up when I'm gone
You can tell your friends just what a fool I've been
And laugh and joke about me on the phone
1990s
@shinynewapple2020-Lily The Pink?
My grandad worked in a pharmacy and used to sell Lydia Pinkham's (Lily the Pink's) Medicinal Compound. It was for, ahem, "women's troubles" and contained a good deal of alcohol.

It was sung by The Scaffold.

xsquared · 09/08/2020 23:48
@xsquared- sorry, I’m new to this!
No worries, I just didn't want to take credit for @VictoriousSockPuppet's suggestions. Smile

Honeyroar · 09/08/2020 23:51

Welcome @Imissmoominmama
@CoffeeBeansGalore That’s AchyBreaky Heart by Miley’s dad!

(line dances off to bed!)

Imissmoominmama · 09/08/2020 23:51

@ThatLibraryMiss- I hadn’t realised it was a real product! My dad used to play it on the piano and we used to sing along from the songbook Grin.
