Well done Twig, yes, Sexy Boy by Air.
Here’s more of the two no one got - there’s a connection between the three:
There seem to have been a gazillion versions of this but the one I remember was a big U.K. hit in 1977s 70s.
If I had my way she’d be back today
But she don’t intend to see me again
What can I do?
‘Cause I, I’m feeling blue
I can’t choose
It’s too much to lose.
This next one you may not know remember/know. It was a top ten hit mid 70s but a sort of Radio 2 type song, male singer, only U.K. hit as far as I know. My mum loved it so much that we played it at her funeral (it’s not a sad song) My best work friend, who had come along to support me, despite never having met mum and not knowing a sole there except DH and me, said it was a song he’d completely forgotten but that it had been his favourite song when he was five years old so it could ring a bell for someone here!
It makes me think of my mum and happy childhood days so it’s now a happy-sad song for me...
Each night my voice happens to sneak
Through your transistor radio, ho-ho-ho
I'm just a secret you can keep
And no one ever needs to know
You're in that city far away
I'm on the ship way out at sea
You got some problems you can't face
So leave them behind, any place
