My baby looks like Steve McDonald

My baby boy is 9.5 months old. Up until recently he was pretty bald, but he seems to be getting quite a lot of hair now. However, it all seems to be at the back and centre of his head, so he looks like he has a bit of a receding hairline at his temples, a la Steve McDonald.

My daughter had a lot of hair from birth but when she was about 3 months old, she sported a similar look for a while (it was back to normal by this stage though).

Both of them had the classic rubbed off patch at the back as younger babies, but this Steve phase seems different- I don’t think the hair has fallen out, it just hasn’t grown there yet? I am wondering if it could be something to do with how the head is growing.

Basically I just wondered if anyone else produces babies that go through phases of looking like middle aged men and/or if anyone knows if it has something to do with head growth?

He is already in age 1-2 hats with not much room left so wondering if he’s just had a head growth spurt which has left him looking like he should be down the Rovers.

Both my younger dds went through a mullet phase at about a year old, natural growth was very short fringe and long at the back - looked like the comedian Paul Foot for months! They're now mullet less thankgod Smile

Ds2 was an absolute shocker when he was born, it didn't help that he had jaundice so he looked like like a mini David Dickinson.

My son looked like Valéry Giscard d’Estaing. One for the oldies there.

Dd was born with black hair which then all fell out aside from a monk’s circle around the side and back of her head. Seemed to take forever to go...

My DD looked like Vyvyan from The Young Ones. She had a ridiculous quiff. Everywhere I took her people would chuckle. We once went out for a nice Sundays lunch and the family at the table behind us wet themselves laughing.

David Jason was handed to me by the midwife. Eventually hair and the mullet grew out and DD1 is beautiful now.

My mother was handed to me the second time. A tiny screaming version of my mother. On beholding his second born, DH said don’t worry she’ll grow into her face 😂 . She did (still looks like DM though).

Oh dinos that did make me laugh.

I know how annoying it is for people when an OP posts about their baby looking like a middle aged man and then doesn’t come back with an update.

Well here’s my update. My baby is now 10.5 months old and looks like Alain de Botton.

So there you go.
