If your holiday was cancelled, what did you do instead?

If your holiday was cancelled due to covid19, did you do anything special during the time you should have been away?

We should have been on holiday early April so couldn't do anything at all.

We were supposed to be away or my sons 13th birthday early April. Instead we went on a 1 hr bike ride and ate pizza so no nothing special.

Ours was Spring Bank and we just enjoyed the weather and went out and about locally. Thankfully for the next two weeks we are away.

We were booked to go abroad in April. We bought a framed 10ft pool for the garden and stayed at home.

Also booked for France for August. Have rebooked for 2021 and booked a self catering cottage in Cornwall for a week.

Not feeling too bad about it as we can still do something away from home.

Postponed our trips out.
We should have been away last week but cancelled.

We've spend half the money from the cottage rental on days out, half has gone into our Florida trip fund.

We were due to be away in July, but have rescheduled for next year. So no, we didn't do anything whilst we should have been away.

Supposed to be flying to Florida on Sunday- were all going to meet up instead and we're moving in the time we should of been away

I worked....not sure what I'm saving my leave for, as it's not looking good for going away in the next few months though......

Bought myself new lounge furniture with the money I should have used to pay the balance of the holiday, and stayed at home on my own shielding the week I should have been away. Transferred the deposit already paid on the cottage to next year instead.

Ours was cancelled for the May half term so I stayed open and continued working and rebooked our holiday for next year.

We were due to go to Florida in August but it’s delayed until 2021. We’re taking the opportunity to get a puppy.

We had planned on going away for Easter but it was cancelled. We weren't allowed to leave the house so no, we didn't do anything!

We've had 2 cancelled and the 3rd is to Spain in 3 weeks - unlikely! - so have today booked what I fear might be a basil fawlty guest house in Weymouth for half as much again as our hotel in Fuengirola. Sigh...

Would have traveled to England with my son in March to watch him play rugby in England, we stayed at home and sulked at the injustice of it. At Easter we would have travelled to London to celebrate my niece's birthday, we sent her a present and had a zoom tea party instead. My other son would have traveled to England for hockey and cricket camps with his friends in July while the rest of us visited family and friends and then we would all have traveled to Ireland to visit family. We have had a few short camping trips locally and some hiking adventures. Missing family and UK friends. Living abroad has been totally shit this year!!

We were supposed to be at Butlins at Easter so obviously couldn't do anything. This week we were supposed to be in the Caribbean. Not done anything particularly special, been out for walks to make the most of the nice weather and I'm taking DS bowling at the weekend. We also met friends for brunch and had a couple of cocktails. I have booked a weekend away in London for the end of August too.

We aren't doing anything special, week we've allocated some of the cash to get the hall and bedroom replastered. Should have had two weeks in Florida.

Nothing. We are supposed to be away for both Easter and August. Leave is used to do childcare at home instead.

Supposed to be in Avebury, Dorset and Cardiff end of April beginning May
Stayed at home and sulked instead
Although we went out most days

Should be going to Florida and New York on the 16th August. Cancelled and booked a couple of apartments in Devon and cornwall(free cancellation and no prepayment) for the weeks we should have been in America. Then the air bridges opened so we booked a week in Spain! No idea what to do about that. We now have the opportunity to stay in my parents villa in France as their planned tenants cancelled. And a possible trip to Disneyland Paris next week.
So lots of things booked and not one followed through to completion. It's a bloody nightmare. But I will have a holiday somewhere this summer, I will!

I was supposed to be going to Lourdes. I've been to Cornwall instead, and a few other places on the way. It's been absolutely wonderful and will make me think twice about going to Lourdes every year in the future. I've not missed it since 2003!

Meant to be in Majorca this week but was cancelled a few weeks ago . We have been doing day trips with my parents instead round the south coast and a few meals out etc .

Easter in Germany - cancelled

Florida in May half term - cancelled

We were supposed to fly to Majorca on Monday, we cancel now and go to Scotland instead for a week. We weren't sure of going anywhere but are desperate for a change of scenery and already covered our normal area with day trips since lockdown eased back in May.

We were supposed to be going to France, but that has been rescheduled for next year and we're going camping in Wales instead. If the weather stays nice I'm sure it will be fab. But I bet the heavens open as soon as we get the tent out of the car....
