How can I deep clean my glass oven door?

And none of this bicarb and vinegar nonsense because it doesn't work! It's only been left a few months but is pretty mucky. No self-cleaning function unfortunately. Can I use oven pride on the glass? Is there some other secret method that doesn't involve me paying to get someone out? Thank you!

Bicarbonate and vinegar doesn’t work because one counteracts the other. You get lots of fizzing but no cleaning power. Same for drains etc.

Bicarbonate and water on the other hand works a treat. Mix to a paste, spread on and put your feet up for a bit. (I have been known to leave this stage for several weeks and cook pizzas in between- it’s non toxic so it doesn’t matter) Then scrub with a scourer-I use a metal one because I am lazy but old washing up sponges work as well.

It worked for me

No scrubbing even needed

Take the glass doors off and cif oven and grill cleaner is brilliant.

Buy a glass scraper for about £2 it’s amazing (like a razor as mentioned). Scrapes the grease off and I’ve also got old paint splatters, grout and other marks off various things. It’s so satisfying!

I use oven mate gel. A bottle of that will last you a lifetime. For stubborn bits as pps suggest I use a scraper. Just a paint scraper (with a blade) will do and they are very inexpensive.

Another vote for a scraper / razor blade. Very satisfying and easy

Oven mate gel, you paint it on. It works no elbow grease required , dishwasher tab didn't work.

I did the dishwasher tab thing over weekend after searching for tips in here.
There is a technique! You need boiling water and to let the tab get soft. I had to leave it in the hot water for a few minutes. Then scrub and you have to scrub hard and for a few minutes with the soft tabs all over the door.

I was disappointed a couple of minutes in, but kept going and all of a sudden it was spotless! I keep going back to look at it. So much nicer than using oven cleaner fumes.

When I say soft, it wasn't a paste (I'd read it was supposed to be but I couldn't get the tab to dissolve that much and I was impatient). And I definitely had to scrub with it but maybe my door was dirtier than most Blush

And obviously wear gloves. One because it's boiling water and too because dishwasher tabs are nasty on your skin.
