What would you buy in John Lewis?

Been given a £75 John Lewis voucher for a special birthday. Would like to buy something nice / to keep rather than waste it on little things. Don't normally shop in John Lewis. Don't really want to buy clothes. Other than that, I'm open to ideas...

So if you had £75 to spend what would buy? Inspire me....

Lego. I don't know what else they sell that I am interested in.

Strugglingtodomybest · 21/07/2020 13:49

I'd buy books. Do they sell books?

SewingWaspish · 21/07/2020 13:52

Yarn or fabric

I'd put it towards a snazzy Kitchen aid type of mixer or one of my wish list Alessi must have items that I've had saved but not dared purchase since DD was born
Failing that skincare that I can't usually justify the cost of 😊

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 21/07/2020 13:59

Kitchen stuff

pennysea · 21/07/2020 14:00

Something nice for the home, jewellery, nice fragrance or home candle?

CatBatCat · 21/07/2020 14:01

Cast Iron cookware

Frazzled2207 · 21/07/2020 14:01

i also have a voucher and am planning on going later today - i will look at the clothes but the things I really want are a frying pan and make up :-)

Latenightreader · 21/07/2020 14:03

They have some lovely glassware and china. I used to 'visit' a Poole pottery vase in my local branch a few years ago!

Modestandatinybitsexy · 21/07/2020 14:06

Their home wares, cushions and blankets are always lovely. Or some new bedding.

Defiantly41 · 21/07/2020 14:06

Jewellery, they do some really nice modern ranges
Sunglasses - a chance to get a nicer than usual pair
Purse or handbag
Skincare or Makeup if you wear it
Perfume or maybe some lovely body products from the same range as your favourite fragrance

You can also spend them in Waitrose if you fancy some gin or champagne

BearSoFair · 21/07/2020 14:07

New bath towels
Or a decent backpack

allmycats · 21/07/2020 14:08

A nice leather purse

I'd look online.

And if I didn't find anything appealing, I'd blow the lot in Waitrose for a brilliant meal, champagne and some treats to be going on with.

Enjoy.

KeirStarmerDonkeyFarmer · 21/07/2020 14:25

Electronics? Decent headphones?

GlottalStrop · 21/07/2020 14:25

Crockery. Always good quality and selection of designs.

MuchTooTired · 21/07/2020 14:47

Their towels are amazing and last for donkeys years. I bought one 15 years ago and it’s still going strong! Not sure if keeping a towel for that long is gross or not

Floralnomad · 21/07/2020 14:51

At the moment a toaster as mine is a bit dodgy .

Sarahbeans · 21/07/2020 14:52

@MuchTooTired

If it makes you feel any better, we were given some really nice ones for our wedding 19 years ago and they're still going strong. Have added to them over the years, but they're still decent and have a few more years in them yet.

I would go for perfume as there’s one I have my eye on, and nothing I particularly need for the home

Sarahbeans · 21/07/2020 14:56

Thanks for all the suggestions. There's not a John Lewis in my local town, so have been looking online. Struggling to find inspiration.

But there have been some great ideas on here. Currently liking the Waitrose idea (I do have one of those near by) so thinking nice gin, some nice gin glasses and perhaps save some back to buy some Christmas decorations later. I love my John Lewis Christmas decorations, but usually can only afford to buy one or two! That would be nice to remember every Christmas (especially once the gin glasses have inevitably smashed!)

But do keep them coming :-)
