I was furloughed from my office job from 30th March to 1st July. There were 4 BH during that time. Am I entitled to ask for them to be added to my leave so I can now take them at a later date?

I'm struggling to understand the wording on the govt website.

If it's relevant my pay was made up to 100% and I get 30 days leave per year (been there forever so have built up additional days) plus the 8 BH. Bank holidays are not booked off, the office is closed so we just automatically take the day.

As I say I don't think the wording on this subject is clear on the govt website so looking for clarity.

Thank you!

Ah so THIS is a reverse post!

I’ll tick that off my new mumsnet member bingo card.

Just need someone to tell me to LTB now

Based on a tweet from HMRC customer support today (this is the kind of thing we’re having to rely on at the moment), it’s looking like it will be possible for staff on furlough to take holiday (including bank holidays) while on furlough without breaking the 3 weeks, as long as employer tops up pay to 100%

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece

Just post the question instead of a bloody reverse.

Unless you just decided it was a reverse when no one agreed with you

Either way, what a waste of time

Agreed.

Until last week I hadn't had more than 2 days off together since February. I am a nurse and have worked split shifts, stayed late and kept going for months. I can't believe the OP is so greedy. At times I have been jealous of people furloughed, I hear all about people who have decorated or sorted their gardens and would loved to have had ever 4 days off together never mind months.
I’m not anything nearly as important as a nurse, but have also worked through with colleagues (who chose to go) on furlough. It might be irrational, but after 4 months without a break, hours changed without notice, expected to cope in a very difficult situation, I’m going to be pretty pissed off when they take their holiday leave, especially as if we both want the same week i’ll be expected to work and suck it up. (Manager, so expected to take shit for an extra 45p an hour)

OP, YABU. But I do thank you for giving me the opportunity to vent, as once at work again tomorrow I’ll have to suck it up and smile.

I’m baffled anyone needs to post a reverse to work out if an employee who got full pay on bank holidays might be reasonable in asking for extra days off!

Consider yourself very lucky. My company are using furlough for notice periods for us as we are being made redundant. I though Furlough was to try and protect jobs, but my multi million pound company are going to rinse the government for all they can get.(leisure industry, who will open again in 2021)
