What petty dramas are going on on your local Facebook group?

Usually ours is 90% parking, dog poo and lost cats but recent events have changed all that

We have had LOTS of:

• black lives matter / oh do they all lives matter arguments
• now we have lots of wear a mask / I won’t wear a mask it’s all a conspiracy

(Incidentally, the all lives matter group seems to cross over a lot with the I won’t wear a mask group and be punctuated by vaguely offensive memes and the kind of stuff you’d see on a BNP site)

There are new traffic calming measures in one part of town which has led to allegations of a split between east and west sides of town, so much chat in fact that the admins have added a “super thread” and now everyone is kicking off at them. Lots of allegations of denying them the opportunity to free speech.

It’s all very bonkers, rather offensive in places and slightly addictive.

My village FB group is mostly people moaning about young people hanging around in the local park at all hours. Oh and someone did a shit outside a local shop so there's been a lot of threads about that too.

One of the local estate agents has (yet again) been driving around like a manic and someone got footage of him 'nearly' hitting their car.

One of the pubs was packed at the weekend and someone moaned about lack of social distancing. She then got piled on because apparently there was a chap in there dealing cheap lines of coke and she must just be jealous coz he didn't offer her a free line Then other stuff about how much money said coke dealer was making that night and so he should therefore start paying his child maintenance.

Completely identifying if anyone from my area is on here, but it has to be shared as it’s a corker...

A bloke was moaning about horses and their riders galloping over a field - those inconsiderate horses could leave ruts or grooves with their hooves, not visible to the naked eye that walkers could fall over.

Horses in a field eh? Whatever next?

We live on a new build estate which has its own Facebook page. Last night somebody posted on there “to the family behaving absolutely disgustingly outside in the early hours last night, I saw what you were doing. Please come forwards and identify yourselves for your vile, inexcusable behaviour”.
My husband and I were waiting excitedly for some comments to appear and then the post got deleted. We were really disappointed, I now can’t stop wondering what might have happened!

Not a mask wearer but am not racist so not totally happy with that statement

Mine (abroad) is full of questions such as:

'Hello, can anyone tell me if Brits can come for a holiday? I have a flight booked for 22/7'

Replies range from 'Yes of course hun!' to 'FFS why don't you read the news, you ignorant twat!'

Happy days

Someone has stolen some face masks that were outside for collection with an honesty box scheme.
The money collected was being donated to a hospice.

Massive argument about asylum seekers staying in a disused hotel in the arse end of nowhere. Apparently they're all criminals and need to 'go back where they came from' before they steal our jobs and simultaneously get huge houses and all the benefits

I don't normally engage with this nonsense but I had a good day debunking half of that.

Oh and the constant police helicopters.

Newbuild estate, had two separate fb groups which have only just merged (which is a relief, was a pain having two).

Prior to merger, someone threw a fit about people parking non-MOT'ed cars in one of the car parks.

I neither saw what happened or heard it. I just saw the aftermath where the woman who had kicked off was unhappy and calling people out in the group, for censure or something, and it's caused a rift leading to people stepping down from adminning the group because fuck that (I'd have walked), which has ultimately led to the merging of both groups.

And now everything is mostly happy and normal and back to complaints about the youths smoking weed in the car park at the end of the main estate road.

Completely outing, but I change my username frequently, so.

Ours is very boring at the moment. Lots of silly posts about things a quick google would find like business phone numbers. Loads of people putting up pictures of the major roadworks are happening nearby.

Mine is mainly about the boy racers on the bypass. But also 1 poster always posts about her wonderful children and dogs. Yawn.

It all lead to a rival group being set up which basically took the piss of all the middle class people in the area. Then a backlash from the original group kicking people out for joining the rival group.
It was so tense.
I loved the drama.

We had a bloke moaning about horse riders on bridle ways as one attacked his dog.

I’m also a member of the local horsey page, the other side of the story was that his large dogs were off lead and we’re attacking a pony that a child was riding on a lead rein. One of the dogs got kicked by the pony

It did not go well for the bloke once this had been brought to light

The council cutting the trees back too far is the main one at the moment.

Last week we had a corker, a lady had posted that children were running up and down the alleyway beside her house shouting "echo" and parents should be teaching their children not to be antisocial because it had woken her baby up. It was quite bizarre.

Our local one is obsessed by dog poo, bonfires, lost cats/dogs and more recently BLM. I joined it in the belief that it might be useful to hear what's going on in the local community but honestly it really winds me up. So many white people banging on that all lives matter etc and going on about Winston Churchill and the war! Loads of moaning about political correctness and the snowflake generation. A right bunch of racist moaners. I actually got bored one day and rejoined the group with a fake name and then called out all the racist comments - it was hilarious! There's also numerous posts whenever a helicopter flies over - weird. Glad to hear other places have the same nonsense going on.

Mine is boring right now. Usually it's about drug raids on one section of the town, missing dogs, feeding foxes and people stealing stuff in poundland.

Makes my town sound like the perfect idyll for bringing up children

We have a German man who lives in our building, and he has taken charge of the group. I am obsessed. He’s trying to prevent the public accessing the private beach we live next to by creating a guest pass system which you collect by going to his apartment and proving they’re with you. He also started a petition to prevent the holding of any events outside our building or filming unless we got a % or the profit. We had some Netflix film cameras here last year for some Ryan Reynolds film and he really upset some people who wanted to meet the actor.

His latest venture? Someone in our building has a dog that barks up to THREE times a night. You can’t access other floors you don’t live on for security reasons. So he waits in the lift and sneaks out on your floor, and then tries to bait the dog into barking so he can expose the family who have the dog. My DH caught him trying to access our floor, and my employer sent the building management a sharply worded letter about threats and risk. I adore the German man, and hope he’s not too discouraged as he is great entertainment value.

All about masks.....it’s all a conspiracy apparently. The person who made this virus is the one making and selling the masks! Who knew?🤷‍♀️

We have a large deer park nearby, there are clear signs not to feed or approach the deer, but unfortunately over lockdown people have come from far and wide with picnics to get cute photos with the deer (fucking "influencers" have a lot to answer for) ..... Sadly the deer start expecting food and can get aggressive and then they have to be shot. There is uproar at the idiots who have been feeding the deer and there is uproar at the innocent deer being destroyed.... the locals just want our beautiful park free of twats but not free of deer.
