I love bats. We have one in our garden which we see at dusk whizzing about. This however is taking things a bit too far! Scariest thing I have seen in a while (if it's real!!!)

Omfg! Why did I click on the links? I'm absolutely terrified of all things winged and now I can never unsee it 😩

TARSCOUT · 04/07/2020 01:52

I seen that elsewhere tonight. Can you imagine out for a late night walk with the dog and that flying about. Oh my good god no.

It's just The Count.

Leave him be. He's chilling out.

Bats have cute faces but their wings freak me out.

That bat is gorgeous 😍

Bluntness100 · 04/07/2020 08:29

Jesus, we have bats, if they were that size I’d be outta here.

FizzyGreenWater · 04/07/2020 12:04

@ElizabethMainwaring it was just something that used to get posted randomly every now and again! Or someone would start a thread and it would be 'Look at this!' and OP would have just posted the bat. The MN joke bat. It goes back so many years I don't remember how it started though!

When I first lived in Sydney I was shocked to find a fruit bat hanging off the tree right outside my front door staring at me as I left for work. They are very big (not like that bat though)

Got used to them would hear them in the night munching away at the fruit then see them as leaving for work just as they were falling asleep I was told they are drunk from the fruit

But one of those flying close to you was scary (only thankfully happened once)

Adore bats. I could spend all day in the bat house at Chester Zoo. I love it when they 'buzz' you. Flying foxes are so cute and gorgeous.

@Movinghouse2015

Last week when my DD came into my room at 2.30am saying there was a bird in her room, to find it was a bat was a total and unwanted shock!! She will probably never sleep with windows open again!!
Had she been asleep in the room while the bat was in there? If so I'd contact the bat conservation trust ( www.bats.org.uk/about-bats/bats-and-disease/bats-and-disease-in-the-uk/bats-and-rabies) and ask them for advice. Long story but my nephew was bitten by a bat last summer (in the uk) and had to undergo a course of treatment against rabies. I'm sure my sister said that the bat people had told her that they often have to recommend treatment where someone has woken up in the same room as a bat so it might be worth checking.
