Would house number 69 put you off moving

brokenuser · 27/06/2020 21:06

Ok- I don't know if it is because I don't want to move and am making excuses but I have a potential mutual exchange lined up but the door number is 69.
I don't know why, but I am thinking this is a reason not to consider a house that offers for us, more than what is on the homeswapper website!

Surely it’s a selling point?

SebandAlice · 27/06/2020 21:07

No

Bubbletrouble43 · 27/06/2020 21:08

I'd love it! What a talking point, and everyone would remember your house number!

BobFleming · 27/06/2020 21:09

Seriously? That's very daft indeed.

BeKindOrBeQuiet · 27/06/2020 21:09

No, I'm not 14

Everythingmagnolia · 27/06/2020 21:09

Wouldn't put me off, I doubt I would give it a second thought.

My old house had a postcode that ended in 9BJ.

Stinkyjellycat · 27/06/2020 21:09

No.

Nixen · 27/06/2020 21:10

Are you an adult? Seriously?!

refriedbeanstalk · 27/06/2020 21:10

We put in several offers on a house at 69 Rogering Road (name changed VERY) slightly), gutted not to get it

brokenuser · 27/06/2020 21:11

@BeKindOrBeQuiet

No, I'm not 14
This made me lol because that is exactly how I feel!!

As I say, I don't know why I am even considering it in a decision that could potentially make life so much easier (location wise)

Helenj1977 · 27/06/2020 21:12

Yes. Sorry but it would 😂 I'm not 14 but can hear the jokes now!

Scion286 · 27/06/2020 21:15

When I was in my early twenties my car number plate had BJ in it, you wouldn’t believe the number of comments I used to get of men. I don’t think I’d have the same now I’m older though! So no, it wouldn’t put me off.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/06/2020 21:15

I wouldn’t care.

StrawberryPea · 27/06/2020 21:19

What?! No, of course not.

amusedbush · 27/06/2020 21:21

My street name starts with ‘cock’. When I’m giving my address over the phone I cringe when they ask me to spell it for them. I usually make a ‘sorry, this is going to sound like a dirty phone call’ joke which makes the other person laugh.

I’d laugh if my door number was 69 but I’m a big child Grin

brokenuser · 27/06/2020 21:21

ok- message heard. I will just have to ignore whatever niggle is there

coronabeer23 · 27/06/2020 21:25

Are you 12? The only person I know who has any interest in the number 69 is my 12 year old nephew.

michelle1504 · 27/06/2020 21:30

My friend in primary school lived in number 69 and we used to sing that song by 'Space' ..." in number 69 there lives a transvestite, he's a man by day but he's a woman at night". Sorry your post just right that memory back and made me giggle!

mumwon · 27/06/2020 21:37

you could give the house a name (& being mumsnet I expect to have several interesting suggestions!)

brokenuser · 27/06/2020 21:46

The thought did cross my mind Grin

JustC · 27/06/2020 21:50

69 is fine. Now 666 might put me off 😁

FrugiFan · 27/06/2020 21:51

Haha no who cares!?

wildone84 · 27/06/2020 21:53

I'd have no problem with living at a number 69.

Nellydean21 · 27/06/2020 21:54

I lived in a 69 for years. Student house.
We always got post with "69 Bite Mine" .
Happy days.

ureterr1blemuriel · 27/06/2020 22:02

Not quite 69 but we recently sold no 13 and had a lot of interest and a number of families wanted to buy it.
