Who would you love to have as a neighbour?

Living or dead, which famous person would you like to have as a neighbour and which would you hate? I'd love Richard Briers when he played Tom Goode in the Good Life, and I would hate Kim Woodburn (How clean is your house) Richard seems as though he would be very kind whereas Kim would likely be a neighbour from hell as she always appears very argumentative when interviewed on tv.

Love - Jurgen Klopp
Hate - Katie Hopkins

BlessYourCottonSocks · 19/06/2020 21:19

Hmm. Good question. I have very pleasant, elderly neighbours who I see very little of which suits me fine.

I'm not sure I want anyone I have to spend much time with, to be honest. I loved the Good Life - but I'm grumpy and unsociable now and wouldn't want Tom and Barbara wandering in through my french doors just when I'd settled down to a bit of peace and quiet.

I need to think of someone useful who wouldn't bother me..

ClosedDoors · 19/06/2020 21:19

That Poldark chap. Topless, mowing the lawn.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 19/06/2020 21:19

Absolutely nobody.

BooseysMom · 19/06/2020 21:21

Great thread!

Ok so i'd love Monty Don cos his voice is so soothing. But he'd never live here, too small.

I'd hate Jeremy Clarkson cos his voice is too annoying.

Imissmoominmama · 19/06/2020 21:22

Martin Clunes. We’d both have land for our animals, so interaction would be a cheery wave, or the odd chat over the boundary fence.

SingleHandSue · 19/06/2020 21:23

Pam and Mick Shipman.

Pam would know all the gossip, Mick would be willing to help if ever needed, and their parties would be legendary!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 19/06/2020 21:34

Martin and Jackie.

They're very kind under the madness.

incognitomum · 19/06/2020 21:35

Kathy Burke. God I'd love that. Can you imagine Grin

missmouse101 · 19/06/2020 21:40

Philip Glenister please. I'd like to share a fence over which I can view his underpants drying on the line!

MurrayTheMonk · 19/06/2020 21:42

Dawn French.she is a fellow jack russell fancier so we could go for walks together with the Dogs and she always has lots of lovely snacks on the go (according to her socials).

BlessYourCottonSocks · 19/06/2020 21:43

Right. I've thought about it. Noel Gallagher, perhaps.

He looks unsociable and as though he wouldn't drop by without asking. But I could feed his cat for him when he was on tour/recording and he'd probably pay me.

Yobringbackthe90s · 19/06/2020 22:04

lee evans one side and peter kay the other side, with jim carrey living opposite.. invite them all around for a bbq

HalfBrick · 19/06/2020 22:09

Nobody.

magimedi · 19/06/2020 22:11

Gareth Malone - to have a lovely voice singing every day would not half cheer me up.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/06/2020 22:12

I’m stealing Martin Clunes, he looks so relaxed and fun.

If not Peter Andre, I know he’s hated here, but I think he’d be amusing to watch.

Nomorewineever · 19/06/2020 22:14

Living or dead? I’d like the dead. Literally.

A house next to a churchyard would be ideal. No hope of development, peace and quiet, and no late parties.

I’m looking to move at the moment and if a house came up bordering a church or churchyard it would be quite desirable for me.

Bellybootcut · 19/06/2020 22:17

Grayson Perry and his wife on one side. Bob Mortimer on the other. The conversations across the garden fences would be amazing.

summerfish · 19/06/2020 22:19

Victoria Coren Mitchell and family, for sure. Poker nights and chats about literature - heaven.

(Although in reality, I would be too scared to speak to her in case I revealed I'm not actually that bright.)

Would hate to live next door to Eddie Redmayne as he has such a punchable face, I'd be arrested really fast.

Chewbecca · 19/06/2020 22:19

Me!
I’m a great neighbour. And I keep the ideal hours.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 19/06/2020 23:09

HRH Taylor Swift on one side because I adore her and one of her problematic exes on the other side because I occasionally suffer from boredom and love other peoples drama Blush.
It would be extra incentive to always look my best when leaving the house because of paps.

HandsOffMyRights · 19/06/2020 23:11

JK Rowling.
She rocks.
No danger of that nob Daniel Radcliffe popping over now either!

TheCatsBlanket · 20/06/2020 21:05

Oh damn, I wish I'd thought of Martin Clunes before I plumped for Richard Briers. Maybe Martin could live opposite
