Put up a line or two from a song for people to guess.

For example:

Is there anybody out there trying to get through?
My eyes are so cloudy I cant see you

Yes, Runaway Train Prosecco but not Pretty Boys. It’s a great song.

Is the French lyric Plastic Bertram? That’s all I can think of.

@ProseccoBubbleFantasies

You're just like an angel Your skin makes me cry
That’s Radiohead, Freak.

So good I posted twice 😂

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 20/06/2020 09:46

Right, it has to be Plastic Bertram, Ca Plan Pour Moi (spelling?)

Cannot claim to have actually recognised the lyrics though!

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 09:55

I don't know the spelling either, Babooshka. But yes.

And I hate to say this, but even posted twice, it's the wrong title. Sorry. You clearly know the song though

I was thinking 'bout a woman who might have loved me

The Eagles - Take it to the limit?

Yes, Pantry.

Love that song!

Fantabulous night to make romance... Isn't that Moondance?

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 10:41

Yes! Gorgeous song. Best thing van Morrison ever did (imho, obvs). I absolutely hate did I tell you lately, which everyone else loves. Twee and sets my teeth on edge. Moondance - romantic and beautiful

🤦‍♀️ Of course, it’s Creep!

OK Computer was the soundtrack to the early days of my relationship with DH - I will never live this down!

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 20/06/2020 11:09

Oh, those Moondance lyrics were driving me mad! Lovely song (but a famously awful man)

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 11:32

You'll be getting divorced.... creep isn't on ok computer Grin Grin Grin

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/06/2020 12:01

Love this one:

You'll never find your gold on a sandy beach
You'll never drill for oil on a city street
I know you're looking for a ruby in a mountain of rocks
But there ain't no Coup de Ville hiding at the bottom
Of a Cracker Jack box

AJumpedUpPantryBoy · 20/06/2020 12:06

Meatloaf
Two out of three ain’t bad

Fleamaker123 · 20/06/2020 12:36

It used to be so easy living here with you
You were light and breezy and I knew just what to do
Now you look so unhappy
And I feel like a fool

I want to say Gloria Estefan but have a sneaking suspicion her version was a cover.
Fleamaker123 · 20/06/2020 12:41

It's an old one.. Very early 70's

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 12:42

@ProseccoBubbleFantasies

She's always a friend to you And she's a friend to me
Right. I'm not letting this one go.

Frankly, by not getting it you're all letting yourselves down. More, you're letting the thread(s) down. You're letting all of mumsnet down.

I can't give the next line as it contains the title. But later on in the verse...

She's there in times of need
Before it's bedtime, on her knee
To us a book she'll read

Think! Think nauseating. Think saccharine.
