Put up a line or two from a song for people to guess.

For example:

Is there anybody out there trying to get through?
My eyes are so cloudy I cant see you

Ah! Got it now - Houdini!

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 19/06/2020 23:12

Yes Babooshka

Willow2017 · 19/06/2020 23:14

Stumped on that one.

Try this:
The first time in my life,
I leave the lights on

Loveletters123 · 19/06/2020 23:19

And so I face the wall
Turn my back against it all
How I wish I’d been unborn
Wish I was unliving here

Willow2017 · 19/06/2020 23:20

Yep. Glad you are enjoying it. I keep missing it as its on too late!

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 19/06/2020 23:33

She's always a friend to you
And she's a friend to me

Iggi999 · 20/06/2020 00:31

@Loveletters123

And so I face the wall Turn my back against it all How I wish I’d been unborn Wish I was unliving here
Eurythmics and sex crime I think
Loveletters123 · 20/06/2020 07:08

Correct @Iggi999

wowfudge · 20/06/2020 08:22

Always a woman to me is by Billy Joel

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 09:02

Always a woman to me is a lovely song. But the lyrics above are for something altogether more sickly

Going a bit later with this one - one of my favourites from the early 90s:

Got no reason for coming to me and the rain running down

AJumpedUpPantryBoy · 20/06/2020 09:12

@ProseccoBubbleFantasies

Pantry!!!!! Missed you.

Is that sinead o'connor?

Yes indeed - from the amazing Troy

Thank you, good to be back - I’ve had a crazy busy week but loved catching up with everyone’s lyrics.

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 09:12

I don't think anyone's got this one, and it's a REALLY beautiful song - lovely, lovely words and sentiment. I'll give you some more....

Bitter words mean little to me
Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the midst of time
When they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine

OP posts:
SingingBabooshkaBadly · 20/06/2020 09:12

And another:

Promised myself I wouldn't weep
One more promise I couldn't keep

Right, now to get myself back into 80s mode...

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 09:15

@ProseccoBubbleFantasies

I was thinking 'bout a woman who might have loved me I never knew
Noone got this yesterday. More lyrics needed???
OP posts:
SingingBabooshkaBadly · 20/06/2020 09:17

@ProseccoBubbleFantasies - I don’t think I know that song but those lyrics are beautiful.

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 20/06/2020 09:18

I meant the ‘I’d say you were a friend of mine lyrics’ - we crossed posts.

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 09:19

@ProseccoBubbleFantasies

Allez hop! Un martin une louloute est v'nue chez-moi
Or this one. Giving you more lyrics won't help because it's french, but I'm sure it was no 1 ages. In the charts for a long time in any case. 1978 ish???

The damned did a version of it called jet boy jet girl, but that won't help anyone cos nobody except me likes the damned 😆

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 09:22

Ok. Got too stuck in the 70s yesterday. How about

So in your broken home he broke all your bones
Now you're taking it time after time

OP posts:
ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 09:22

You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry

OP posts:
ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 20/06/2020 09:29

Yeah, it's a gorgeous song, Babooshka. Apparently it's quite often used in funerals because the lyrics are about looking back and reflecting on life

The band were quite big in the US, not so much here, but they're British.

@SingingBabooshkaBadly

And another:

I love that song. Is it called runaway train? No idea who sung it. Pretty boys????
