We back onto a field, the school backs on to the other side. Approx a 4 minute walk

Soubriquet · 15/06/2020 13:15

We live 0.7miles

2 minute drive or a 10 minute walk

Waxonwaxoff0 · 15/06/2020 13:18

We used to be round the corner but we have just moved house so it's about a 30 minute walk. There are 2 secondary schools in our town, both about a 30 minute walk away too.

About 5 miles (out of catchment) but a 10 minute walk from the childminder’s house. Catchment school would be a 20 minute walk at DC speed (about half a mile).

Emmapeeler1 · 15/06/2020 13:32

We are 2.5 miles away from our catchment primary. We walk 0.5 miles of this as it's not a safe walking route. Secondary they'll be on a bus.

PaperMonster · 15/06/2020 13:34

7 minutes to the village primary school. What gets me is that there’s someone who lives halfway between us and school who drives there and goes back home!

underneaththeash · 15/06/2020 13:36

DS’ first primary - 3 mins walk. DS 1&2 prep 8 minute drive. DS2 secondary - 15 minute drive.
DD 1st primary 5 minute walk (but it was crap), second 5 minute drive (was even worse), current primary 25 minute drive (but is fabulous).

CakeCakeCake21 · 15/06/2020 13:38

Mile and a half from DS 2 primary - 30 -40 min walk or 15 min cycle ride.
About 300 metres fro DS2 secondary school.

CoronaIsComing · 15/06/2020 14:09

Used to be a 15 mins drive but we moved 2 weeks ago so if he goes back it’ll be 25 mins. He only has a maximum of 4 weeks left (our council have just given the OK to going back today) and then he’ll go to high school which will be a 15-20 minute drive followed by a short walk or 45 mins on the bus.

MrsAvocet · 15/06/2020 14:14

Primary was 3.5 miles away. Secondary is 22 miles away.

Zisforstripyoss · 15/06/2020 14:26

We're not at catchment school, but it's only just less than 2.5 miles away. Not walkable as it involves country lanes, but once DC2 is confident on the bike then we'll cycle I think.

Roomba · 15/06/2020 14:27

30 minute walk to DS2's primary - approx 40 - 50 minute drive thanks to our wonderful one way system! We walk past 3 closer primaries on our way, but we chose this school specifically as it is the only non CofE or Catholic school for many miles.

DS1's secondary is about 30 mins walk for me, 20 for his long legs. Again, not worth driving/bus due to rush hour traffic.

FourTeaFallOut · 15/06/2020 14:28

About 15/ 20 minutes walk to both primary and secondary from here.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 15/06/2020 14:28

It depends how fast I walk or how busy the traffic is if I drive but it's about a 5-10 minutes' walk away down a hill, over a very busy road and then up another steep hill.

Growingboys · 15/06/2020 14:30

I mile to primary - we cycle

1.5miles to secondary - bus/walk/cycle depending on weather/covid

LemmysAceCard · 15/06/2020 14:31

About 3 or 4 minutes walking, it takes longer to drive. Secondary school is about 8 minutes walk.

Xiaoxiong · 15/06/2020 14:31

DS2 currently a 10 min walk. He is joining DS1 next year, which is 6 miles away - a 20 min drive.

Redcrayons · 15/06/2020 14:32

Primary school - 2 minute walk
Secondary school - half a mile away
College - 5m. DS is going to be in for a shock when he has to start getting up early to catch a bus in September.

ActuallyItsEugene · 15/06/2020 14:33

I am a 5 minute walk away, it's an excellent school too.
We're very lucky.

minipie · 15/06/2020 14:35

between 10-20 minutes depending on if walking, scooting, how tired etc...

FatalSecrets · 15/06/2020 14:36

15 miles from her secondary!

MinneapolisTransplant · 15/06/2020 14:41

Middle and high school are both a 10-minute walk. Elementary is about a 5 - 10 minute drive

reinacorriendo · 15/06/2020 14:41

11 minutes walk and my DD in secondary is 8 minutes it’s on way to primary so handy.

MrMenGoSwimming · 15/06/2020 14:43

5 miles, 10 min drive. It's not our nearest school but my eldest has ASD and this school is better suited to him as it's smaller (still mainstream though).

Gazelda · 15/06/2020 14:48

Primary was 10 min walk.
Secondary is 8 miles, but have to leave at 7.50 to get DD there by 8.40 in normal times.
