Can't sleep without socks on

Even in this heat!

Some nights I try to sleep without but half the time just toss and turn til I give up and put socks on.

Been like this ever since I can remember. Is there a scientific reason for it?

Please tell me I'm not alone!

Don't know, perhaps it's a comfort thing that makes you feel safe?

I do that as well, I have to have a cover over me as well even if it's only a sheet. Only my head can stick out otherwise the monsters might grab me!

I’m the opposite. I can’t sleep unless my feet are poking out from the covers, even in the dead of winter. Socks? You might as well smother me.

I have a sleep hat. Same thing I guess, just the other end!

I need them in winter but take off in the middle of the night, never in the summer but dd3(9yrs) sleeps in fluffy socks all year round 😳😁

I can't sleep with them on. I occasionally give in in the depths of winter if my feet are freezing but inevitably wake up in the night with boiling feet and have to kick them off.

I can't sleep without socks on either unless it's like 20+ degrees at night.

The only time I take them off is to change them or have bath. If it's hot I wear thin ones, or sometimes stick my feet out of the covers.
Girls.pelerine socks are good for summer.

I never used to be able to sleep without a cover on, even if it was just a sheet... then I lived in Valencia, one very hot summer and it cured me if that!

I love the idea of socks in winter, but I know I'll wake up needing to take them off so I try not to give into the temptation.

I used to be like that! For years I could never sleep without fresh, clean, tight fitting socks on.

Then a couple of years ago I got athletes foot. The itching was worse at night so I’d put cream on before bed and have to leave my socks off for the cream to soak in. It felt a lot better having cool feet at night too.

Since then I get annoyed wearing socks. I never thought I’d sleep without socks yet here I am!

Weirdly I can't put my trousers on before my socks. Socks on first before anything.

Not socks but pj bottoms, I can’t sleep without them on, can sleep top half naked but not my legs 🤷‍♀️ Random as it is - I’ve even tried pj shorts and have ended up getting up and getting changed.

I'm the same. If I don't have socks on I'm too aware of my feet and can feel them against each other or against the bed and it's distracting. I'm just not comfy with no socks on. I also wear jogging bottoms and a jumper to bed almost all year round - I'm not wearing a jumper at the mo though.

I think this all started in my twenties, wasn't like this as a child or adolescent

Same here! I couldn't think of anything worse than sleeping with socks on!

I cannot sleep naked. It scares me. And i must have a blanket over me. Even if its hot. I must have that cover. Don’t know why. I just have to.

Plus if my feet are cold I have to wear socks. Even in the summer.

The thought of wearing socks in bed is making me hyperventilate! I'd feel like I was being strangled (and yes I know where socks go!).

I am chiming in, hoping we make a majority. Can’t bear to have my feet covered at all, even in the coldest weather. They have to poke out. Covering my feet at night, even with the thinnest sheet, makes me feel like I’m overheating.

I'm a definite socks to fall asleep, but my socks will always be found on the floor at the bottom of the bed the next morning.

I am definitely a pants on person too. I think it is the fear of someone coming in in the morning whilst I am asleep only to find I've kicked the covers off and be greeted by my bare bum. Or worse

Do you have poor circulation? Are your feet cold? Is that why you're wearing socks?
If so get your thyroid checked. Classic symptom.
