Can't sleep without socks on

Even in this heat!

Some nights I try to sleep without but half the time just toss and turn til I give up and put socks on.

Been like this ever since I can remember. Is there a scientific reason for it?

Please tell me I'm not alone!

I need socks on. It's a sensory thing.

Except when I'm pregnant, then I can't tolerate them in bed at all.

My mother was a sox at night person. I personally wear Sox as a last resort. I tend to wear them long enough to feel warm then take them off.
I rarely wear them during the day, even in winter.

Same here

Have freezing feet

Phew I'm not alone!

Think it's a sensory thing. If I had to describe it, it's like my feet feel too light without them.

I'm a feet-hanging-out person but I can't sleep without ear plugs wedged in. I haven't fallen asleep in bed without ear plugs for nearly 40 years (ever since my newborn daughter upset my sleep pattern for life) but I can drop off on the sofa with no problem.

I get nightmares if I wear socks in bed

RedElephants · 02/06/2020 07:30

I can't stand having cold feet, especially in bed, I would just toss and turn all night, but I can't sleep in socks either, I end up taking them off.
So I have a hot water bottle, All year round. Grin
