What one thing do you do to increase quality in your life during Lockdown?

A few years ago there was a brilliant thread on here about small ways to increase your quality of life. It gave me a real boost when I was feeling down in the dumps. Although I totally support the lockdown I'm really flagging psychologically and sometimes feel there is nothing to look forward to. I'd love to hear your ideas on how to make each day a bit more pleasurable!

Go out for a walk or other exercise.

HasaDigaEebowai · 20/05/2020 16:33

spend time wandering around the garden every day really noticing the small changes

Didntwanttochangemyname · 20/05/2020 16:35

Run every day, and leaving my phone upstairs until 4pm (if it's urgent they'll find me on the landline)

RememberTheSunnierDays · 20/05/2020 16:35

Buy really nice food and wine 😉

NurseJaques · 20/05/2020 16:37

We've bought a hot tub (or chavvy sex pond as it's been named by MN) Grin

Also second the plan and cook nicer food!

DarylDixonsHair · 20/05/2020 16:38

Drink a massive gin cocktail at 5pm

wowfudge · 20/05/2020 16:38

Get fresh air and exercise. I'm also moisturising after every shower instead of my old slapdash when I remembered routine. Hoping to emerge from lockdown looking and feeling better than when I went in!

lolawasashowgirl · 20/05/2020 16:39

@NurseJaques 'Chavvy Sex Pond' 🤣🤣🤣

Put the radio on and sing along to the songs, annoying my children at the same time!

Sit in the garden as much as possible.

Try out a range of tea flavours and types of chocolate.

Sloth66 · 20/05/2020 16:42

Listening to birdsong every day.
Taking time to really listen.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 20/05/2020 16:42

Also, plant some fruit & veg plants and watch them grow and hope the slugs don't demolish them

Grumpylockeddownwoman · 20/05/2020 16:45

Mines so silly - but since the weather turned warmer I bought a sprinkler - nowt to do with keeping the garden watered - for running through for fun.

Nanalisa60 · 20/05/2020 16:48

Walking a lot and also bike riding ever few days, have found lots of lovely places not very far from my house that I did not know about.

Home cooking!! So much nicer then ready meals.

Playing backgammon with DH every afternoon sipping a gin!!

lolawasashowgirl · 20/05/2020 16:50

@Grumpylockeddownwoman not silly at all - it's a fantabulous idea. I want your username too Grin

Opening the Wine, Gin, Pimms or other bottle of choice a little earlier every day Grin

bengalcat · 20/05/2020 16:51

@nursejaques - chavvy sexpond lol thank you for making me laugh and giving me something to imagine on my way home today

fitzbilly · 20/05/2020 16:54

I have been reading books in the garden, properly stopping and enjoying the slower pace of life, cooking more meals that take a while rather than speedy meals, lots and lots of fruit and veg as I can now properly plan to use them and feed them to the children all day long.

I also have phone free time.

Dancing and being silly with the kids.

More sex.

OneNewName · 20/05/2020 16:56

Consuming huge amounts of chocolate, gardening, crafts.

lolawasashowgirl · 20/05/2020 19:27

Mine is staying in touch with people via Zoom / Skype. I've now got so used to it I can forget we're not in the same room!

I walk 10k a day, I've spent a fortune on amazing plants which I enjoy looking after, I spend another fortune on nice M & S food and I give myself regular pedicures. Lots of things really

2468whodoyouappreciate · 20/05/2020 22:07

Wine and nibbles. Quite enjoying a sparkling rose with ice in this hot weather and munchingbin some.salted peanuts!!
Yum!! I feel enhanced trying new bottle of wine every day.

LuvMyBoyz · 20/05/2020 22:11

Coffee together with DH every morning and a crossword. We call it our coffee date and sets us up for the day. He’s a teacher WFH and we couldn’t do it preCovid as he’d leave really early for school.

ssd · 20/05/2020 22:11

A very kind mnetter gave me a dolce gusto coffee machine and we all have a frothy coffee every day, it's really nice and feels like a real treat.
